Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL (MIKE) SYROWAY At Holy Family Home on December 16, 2013, Mike Syroway, aged 96, peacefully passed away with daughter Doreen at his bedside. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 73 years, Helen, his daughter Doreen (Wayne) Buzahora, grandchildren Marnie (Ryan) Sullivan, Brent (Beth) Buzahora; great-grandchildren Nathan and Rowan Sullivan; Brodin and Tanner Buzahora. Also to mourn his passing, brother Peter, sisters Tina Jackson, Jean Pomarenski; sister-in-law Pauline, numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by parents Wasyl and Olena, brothers Stanley, Sam and wife Molly, sister-in-law Mary, brothers-in-law Phil Jackson, Stanley Pomarenski. Dad was born l9l7 in Fraserwood and lived there 43 years. He married Helen Humeny, November 2, 1940. They lived on a small farm before moving to Winnipeg in 1960, where he was employed at Cowin Steel until retiring in 1985. Dad was a quiet, caring man whose life revolved around his family, with his grandchildren his pride and joy. Never afraid of hard work, he loved the outdoors, carpentry, going for walks, could repair almost anything. Great-grandchildren brought my parents special joy. Thanks to Dr. Szajkowski for excellent care of Dad for many years. We are grateful to Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate, doctors, nurses, care aides, social workers, all staff and Ladies Auxiliary at Holy Family Home for the loving care and compassion given to Dad during the past 10 months. A special thank you, Harold, for taking Dad for extra visits to Mom which he loved. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg at 11:00 a.m. with Father Isidore Dziadyk officiating. Interment at Fraserwood Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, memoriam donations may be made in Mike's memory to Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2W 1T9 or charity of your choice. Doreen & Wayne, Helen and family - I'm so sorry to hear about your father's passing. I enjoyed caring for both him and your mother at HFH. He was such a kind man - I know you will miss him terribly! Please accept my deepest sympathies at this time. I remember Mr. Syroway being very kind and patient with all the kids running through his yard because I was one of them.
