ALICE FRANCES CHILDERHOUSE (nee JOYCE) In the wee hours of Tuesday, December 17, 2013 Alice left us to be with God after 87 years on this earth. Our memories of her will be forever cherished by Stephen, her husband of 65 years, sons Steve (Kristi) and Bryan (Lynne), grandchildren Dan (Christele), Brad (Melanie), Chris (Erin), Cheryl (Simon), Mike (Elaine), Catherine (Jeff), as well as great-grandchildren Breanna, Elyn and Sienna. Alice grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick, the youngest of six children. After she and Dad were married they moved around a fair bit but wherever we were, Mom always made it a home. Alice was a woman of deep faith, strong willed and a source of great strength to Dad and her boys. There was a lot of love in our family, always lots of laughs and much singing. Joyful times included camping vacations, summers at the cottage in Saint John and winters in Port Orange, Florida. Mom and Dad remained devoted to each other even when her failing health prevented them from living together. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Place 4th Floor especially Judith, Corey and Dave for the special care and kindnesses that they provided Alice. Cremation to take place. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21 at Klassen Funeral Home, 1897 Henderson Highway. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Concordia Place in Alice's name.
