GEORGE JONES Peacefully in his sleep, George passed away in the early morning hours at the Charleswood Care Centre on Sunday, December 22, 2013. George was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Ann Jones. He leaves to mourn, in his own words, "my dear sister, best friend and confident" Alice (Matteo) Cotroneo and family. His nieces, nephews, and great nephews will all miss their "Uncle Dode", who was a loving, supportive, and generous Uncle to them all. For 35 years, he worked for T. Eaton Co. in Winnipeg and Edmonton. He was the best big brother any kid sister could ever have and she will miss him forever and a day. At George's request a private family farewell will be held. I met George in 1970 upon joining Eaton's. He was the northern Alta. catalogue district sales manager at that time. We made many field trips to various catalogue sales offices over the years & enjoyed each other's company as we racked up the miles between offices. George was a great conversationalist. He was devoted to his sister Alice & her two children. Although we lost touch after Eaton's closed I still have fond memories of those times. We were sorry to see in the paper that George has passed away. We lived next door to him on Buffie Bay and had many chats. He wasn't in the best of health when we moved away and we hope that he lived comfortably his last few years.
