PETER NEUFELD March 7, 1930 - December 26, 2013 Peacefully on December 26, 2013 Peter went into the waiting arms of Jesus. After six long years apart, he is now reunited with his wife of 51 years, Mary. Peter is survived by his children and their families, Brenda (Loren) Pullman, Sherelle (Oliver), Stephen (Kelly) and Brady (Bethany), Karen Neufeld, and Lois (Terry) Wiebe, Leslie and Tanner; his sister Grace (John) Loeppky and her family. Peter was predeceased by his wife Mary, his father Peter Neufeld, his step-father Henry Dueck, and his mother Aganetha Dueck. Peter was a responsible provider for his family and a strong supporter of spreading the gospel message. Peter spent many years of employment at Eaton's, followed by shorter terms at McDiarmid Lumber and the Health Sciences Centre before retiring from the Canadian National Railways. Special thanks to the various doctors, nurses, and health care workers involved with Peter's care as his health began to decline over the last number of years. Viewing will be held at Friends Funeral Chapel, 2146 Main Street on Monday, December 30, 2013 from 7:00-8:00 pm for anyone wishing to attend. Celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 11:00 am at Portage Avenue Church, 1420 Portage Ave, following a private interment (immediate family only) in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations may be made to the Gideon Bible Society or Cancer Care Manitoba. As a special request, please refrain from wearing any fragrances or scented products if attending either service.
