FRED KVERN Quietly, Fred passed away at home on Thursday, December 26, 2013 surrounded by those he loved and who loved him. He had become unexpectedly but seriously ill over the past few months. Although challenging, this period was full of love and caring. His is survived by Rosemarie, his wife of 55 years, son Brent (Margie), daughter Patti (Brent) and grandchildren Ryan, Curtis, Allison and Michael. He is also survived by his brothers Virgil and Arthur. Fred loved life and especially family gatherings. From making his own wine and beer, to working with stained glass, golfing, curling and playing bridge, he was always active and engaged. His grandchildren never worried about their broken toys telling their parents, "It's okay, Grandpa can fix anything." And usually he could! He enjoyed being retired after many years of working, first for AEI Telecommunications, and then for Xerox. Until recently, he was still working part-time at Adesa Car Auctioneers, but it was really the camaraderie of his colleagues that he enjoyed. Essentially a quiet person, Fred had a strong faith and a long time connection to his church. A memorial service will be held Monday, December 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church 1311 Dakota Street. The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care Program, especially Shannon, for their compassion and guidance. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Palliative Care Program at St. Boniface Hospital would be appreciated (http://www.sbgh.mb.ca/patientcare/familyMed.htm NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com
