MARTHA ANNE BROWN (nee CRAIG) Peacefully, on December 27, 2013, Martha passed away after a brief illness at Grace General Hospital at the age of 81 years. Martha is survived by her children; Ann, Craig (Paddy), Brian, Wayne, Lynne (Mike) and her daughter-in-law Angele; her eight grandchildren Serina (Roman), Shana, Breanna (Sarah), Katelynn, Tara (Chris), Christina (Tristan), Gerry, and Joey; eight great-grandchildren; her brother Jack (Diane) and sister Edna; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and dear friends. She was predeceased by her husband Allan, her son Jim, great-grandson Tristan and her parents, Ted and Greta. Martha's story began on August 22, 1932 in Oakville, Manitoba. She attended college in Brandon, MB and moved to Winnipeg and worked at Manitoba Hydro until her marriage in 1953. She raised a loving family, became an avid reader and passionate volunteer with Alanon. Martha met everyone with a kind and open heart. She devoted her life to connecting to people. Through wisdom and sensitivity, she nurtured a voice in every soul she met. Her love and acceptance will continue to inspire long after her final page turned. The family would like to thank Dr. George and the staff at the Grace Hospital for their care and compassion. Everyone is welcome to join the family for a visitation on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 3 at 1:30 pm at the Headingley Community Hall, 5353 Portage Avenue Headingley. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.   • When I moved back to Winnipeg 2 years ago I started going to Alanon. Martha was the First Lady to greet me and welcome me. With big warm hug. I visited her on occasions at her home.
