December 26, 2013 Peacefully, on Thursday December 26, 2013, Joyce passed away at Deer Lodge Centre with her family by her side at the age of 82 years. Joyce is survived by her five children; William (Lorraine), Susan, Wendy (Allan) Donald, Theresa (Don) and sisters Dorothy and Lillian. Seven grandchildren; Robbie, Jennifer (Jason), Leanne (Marty), Ryan (Tracy), Michael, Justin (Margo), Ashley and 10 great-grandchildren; Bobbi-Lynn, Blake, Kale, Kaden, Jackson, Carter, Kaitlyn, Lexi, Zachary and Colson and many numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, William and Emily Finch, husband William, daughter-in-law Laurie and grandson Tyler and Dale Spencer. Joyce was a life long Winnipeger and lived in St James, attended Britannia, Linwood, Assiniboine and St. James Collegiate. She met her husband Bill at the old Auditorium Roller Rink where they spent many good times. Joyce and Bill were married in 1950 and raised five children. Joyce enjoyed teaching Brownie's 92nd pack for the Girl Guides Association as well as Sunday School at the St. James Anglican Church on Collegiate. Joyce held various part time jobs while raising her family. She enjoyed spending time at Grand Beach and they later purchased their cottage spending many great years with all the family. Joyce always enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, doing crafts, playing games and especially enjoyed searching the beach for sea shells. Joyce spent the last six years at Deer Lodge Centre battling Parkinson's while receiving support from all her family and friends. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Deer Lodge Centre on 7 West and 3 East for all their support and comfort. In lieu of flowers; donations may be made in Joyce's name to the Parkinson's Society of Manitoba, # 7 414 Westmount Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2J 1P2. Celebration of her life will be held at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 2:00 pm. We will all miss you MOM. It was always a joy to visit Joyce. No matter how badly she felt, she always cared about others. She loved the Word of God and liked to have someone come and read and pray with her.
