STEWART FRASER September 20, 1958 - December 28, 2013 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stewart on December 28, 2013 at the age of 55 years. Left to cherish Stewart's memory are his parents Dennis and Jessie, sister Nancy (Ross), his nieces Paula, Amanda, and Melanie (and their families) and his longtime partner Linda. Stewart will also be missed by his large extended family and friends here in Winnipeg as well as many relatives throughout Canada, the U.S. and his home country of Scotland. Stewart was born in Aberdeen and immigrated to Canada in 1969 at the age of ten with his parents and his older sister. He completed his schooling here in Winnipeg and found his way into the hospitality industry where he worked all his life. During the course of his career, Stewart was afforded the opportunity to work in many different locations such as Lake Louise, Victoria and the United Kingdom. However, after many years working away, the need for family and the comforts of home overtook Stewart and he came back to Winnipeg permanently. Stewart was a quiet man but he always spoke with kindness and had an easy-going temperament. He really enjoyed the little pleasures in life. He was an avid sports fan in particular soccer and golf. He loved music and got the chance to see many of his favourite bands live. The family wishes to extend thanks to Dr. Harris, Dr. Sisler and the team at Grace Hospital and the staff at St. Boniface Palliative Care Unit for all their kindness over the past 5 weeks. A special thanks to Christine at Brathwaites Pharmacy for her attention and support as well. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4 1755 Portage on Friday, January 10 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
