KEITH GEORGE McFEE It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Keith George McFee. Born August 4, 1944 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he was the youngest of Carl and Pearl McFee's eight children. Keith will be greatly missed by his daughters Gina McFee-Bernier (John) of Sioux Lookout, ON and Carla Chalifoux (Craig), grandchildren Cassidy and Cale of Edmonton, AB and the mother of his children and friend, Beverley McFee. He is survived by siblings Art (Audrey) and Ron (Edith) McFee, Irene Coleman, Pat Appleyard, Shirley King, many nieces and nephews and an endless list of friends, all of whom he cherished dearly. He was predeceased by his parents, sisters Betty Lindsay and Ruby Stewart, brothers-in-law Frank McElroy, Don Appleyard, Ron King, Charlie Lindsay, Murray Stewart and Gerald Coleman. Keith grew up in Grosse Isle, Manitoba, later moving his family to Sioux Lookout to pursue a career in plumbing, the first licensed in the area. Over the years, this move would evolve into successful ventures and relationships that allowed him to shine in entrepreneurial endeavors, proven by all of his accomplishments. His passions were first and foremost music-playing the guitar and singing, the effects of a great joke (and he had many), and the endless stories he loved to share in good company (and there were good ones)! He appreciated everything good in his life and all that he was fortunate to receive. He believed in living life to its fullest, and looked forward to the times he would get to spend with his family and good friends and the new opportunities that may lie around the corner. He was a proud man, respectful, and respected by many. His understanding to forgive and be forgiven was the foundation to his being, and no doubt his adventurous life and stories will live on. Family and friends, please join us in celebrating our father's life on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Home, 433 Main Street, Stonewall, Manitoba. I was shocked and so very sad to hear of Keith's death. I was told this past weekend, or I would have been at his funeral. He was one of the people who made high school fun-always with the jokes and if there was harmless 'trouble' to get into, especially during our Halloween excursions, he was right in the middle of it too. Our classmates at Grosse Isle High School will remember the great water fight (the Boss's idea of phys. ed.) INSIDE the school. The new Mennonite teachers in the lower grades were white with shock. The school didn't have running water - just an outdoor pump. We had a water fountain with a slop pail under it to catch the drips, (and orange peels, sandwich crusts-gross). The girls were defending the upstairs. I think Keith was one of the guys coming up the fire escape, and I got them with the slop pail. I know for sure Keith was one of the guys who got even with me while we were waiting for the school bus-two held me down under the pump, while the other one soaked me-not a dry inch on me anywhere. He leaves so many golden memories with so many people. His sister Irene McElroy was my grade school teacher at Grassmere, one of the best. Teachers who could handle eight grades in a one room school, AND be an excellent teacher deserve a medal. She does. - Posted by: Marjorie Coggan Anderson (high school classmate) on: Jan 13, 2014

I worked for Keith many years ago, driving a dump truck. I actually bought a gravel truck from him, my first self-employment venture. We became life-long friends and I will always remember him giving me my first opportunity in business. May you rest in peace, my friend. Hugs to his girls and know that we are there for you. - Posted by: Randy and Cindy Henrickson (Friend) on: Jan 10, 2014

We will always have good story telling memories of Keith ..As mentioned - he had a heart the size of a gravel truck and would always lend a hand if needed..There wasn't too many thinks that Keith didn't know how to do or how to fix..He had stopped in about 2 1/2 months ago and he looked liked a million bucks dressed in a blue colored suit and I jokingly said "where did you just come from--Big Sam The Tailor Man's place" and he started to laugh..I always remember him telling the joke about Big Sam The Tailor Man in a hair-lip voice and he would have everyone who was there rolling on the floor..He could go on for hours telling jokes or playing guitar..Rest in peace SilverFox-- we will have many very fond memories.. Keith was one of those people who you enjoyed being with. His humour and stories could keep you entertained for hours. He was a man who lived life to the fullest. His adventures in life were full of fun and new experiences. Keith was not afraid to venture out into new and exciting adventures. Keith and Gina came to visit me just lately and I live in a home which Keith had done the plumbing work years ago. We talked at length of his and my years here in Sioux Lookout. He still could tell a good joke or story and we recalled the good old times. My condolences to Gina, Carla and Bev and the rest of his family. - Posted by: Dick Mcintyre (Friend) on: Jan 09, 2014

Dear Bev and famliy, my deepest condolences go out to you, your family and also Keith's family for their loss. I haven't seen Keith for many, many years and still remember all the good time we all had in the late fifty's and sixty's. We used to attend the dances at Meadows, curled in bonspiels attended Stonewall quarry days, the big tree (for those of us that remember that tree) and a lot of parties at my dad Steve's place. In closing I have to say I personally never heard anyone say anything bad about Keith, as he had a heart as big as a gravel truck and that may have been his only downfall? I do know if there is a heaven he will be there with a smile on his face and be with all his past friends. I have to appologise for not being able to attend his funeral, as I am currently away for Winnipeg. Sincerly, Gerry Bentley - Posted by: Gerry Bentley (Friend) on: Jan 08, 2014

Many a time Keith and I sat down and played guitar and sang for hours on end actually. We also used to jam with the bands after the bar was closed. Keith was very kind to me. He helped me out getting work in his establishment when no work was to be found. He rented me accommodation in the early 80's when there was nowhere to rent in Sioux Lookout period at that time. He even insisted I stay at his place until he had an apartment open. Keith would give anyone the shirt off his back. - Posted by: Harvey Ray (Friends ) on: Jan 07, 2014

Not once in our life have I never not enjoyed and laughed whenever we got together with Keith. Out comes the quitar, the music starts and life is great. To tell just one life story would be impossible there were so many, As you know Keith would always stop in Toronto he knew where there was a bed and a hot meal, shower and a good time. Every time we would meet he would always bring up about the time he was at our house and I was due to give birth. Well the way he tells it he almost delivered the baby. I just love him so. Greatly missed long before his time. Love from Bill and Cheryl - Posted by: Bill & Cheryl Quinn (Friend) on: Jan 07, 2014

Sincere condolences to the family of Keith. When he was around 19, 20 years old..he lived in Brooklands on Logan ave. With Dennis Herron and Jim Manacure. My sister Karen dated Keith on and off for many years. She was engaged to him when she was 15. She later married his friend and roommate Dennis Herron. Karen and my brother Dennis, Henry and myself kept in touch with Keith over all of these years. And met with him on and off for coffee or dinner. His saying back in the day as a joke for something was..."that was a cheese sandwhich" so we called him cheese sandwhich. lol. My brother and I saw Keith last a few years ago in Stonewall where he had a garage. Keith was always so funny...and we all are jokers too..so we loved him dearly. I do remember him playing the guiter and singing. He was a good looking man. And enjoyed life. - Posted by: Donna Henry Bilodeau Olender (Friend) on: Jan 07, 2014
