ELEANOR ELISABETH GREIPL December 10, 1918 - January 8, 2014 It is with great sadness and sorrow that the family announces the peaceful passing of our dear Auntie Eleanor on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the age of 95 years at the Poseidon Nursing Care Home. She is survived by her sister Martha Plante of Red Rock, Ont. and her sister-in-law Betty Greipl of Winnipeg. Eleanor was predeceased by her partner Archie Williamson, her brothers Leonard and Lawrence Greipl, her sisters Hilda Greipl and Johanna Nagy, her brothers-in-law Rene Plante and Michael Nagy, her niece Heather Greipl and her nephews Kenneth Plante, Graham Nagy and Bill Greipl, her parents Joseph and Johanna Greipl. Eleanor will be missed by her many nieces, nephews and extended family members, who she adored and spent many happy family times with. She loved the family gatherings. Her nieces and nephews were everything to her and she was the happiest when they were around her. Eleanor was born in Fulda, Sask. and grew up in Cudworth, Sask. as a young adult. The family moved to Winnipeg and Eleanor found work at The T. Eaton Company where she worked for many years as a Signature Supervisor until her retirement in 1978. Eleanor enjoyed the horse racing, curling, gardening with her mom and sisters and she even took up fishing with Archie in her younger days. Eleanor was a classy dressed lady and enjoyed all the wonderful suits and dresses her sister Hilda would design for her. The family would like to give a huge special thanks to all the special staff at the Poseidon Nursing Care Home who provided care, kindness and friendship to Eleanor during her stay. Heartfelt thanks to all. Eleanor was a long time member of Christ The King Church and had strong religious beliefs that she lived by. "May you rest in peace our dear Auntie Eleanor. You were very good to all of us and we really appreciated all you did for us too. We were lucky to have you in our lives." Also, special thanks to her nephew Brian Alexander and special thanks to her niece Janice Sidorow for all those weekly visits to the care home and for bringing a smile to Eleanor's face while providing her with tender loving care. "We will always love and remember you Auntie Eleanor. God Bless You." A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Christ the King Church, with a reception to follow. Now that we have laid Our Dear Auntie Eleanor to rest I think of many wonderful moments we shared with you over the years of my Childhood, my youth as a teenager & my adult life, memories that will remain in my thoughts & my heart daily. As I go on my journey I will always remember the joy, happiness & Love you gave to me & cherish those times that I had with you. I will always miss you but find comfort in knowing that you are there in Spirit with me.
