STELLA KIT It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Stella Kit, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend on January 12, 2014. Stella was born on September 25, 1927 to Ann and Nick Ruta, the first of six other siblings, Delores, Johnny (passed 2012), Eleanor, Steve, Nick and Connie. Stella was born in Chicago, IL, at the age of two moved to Cooks Creek where she lived most of her life. Stella met John (passed 1976), married and lived in Cooks Creek. Together they had six children, Barry (Theresa-passed), Theresa, Valerie (Craig), Debbie (Ken), Johnny (Kathleen) and Allison (Ken). She also leaves to mourn her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jennifer, Jaime (Corey), Curtis, Jeremy, Cynthia (Chris), Mathew, Tera, Darryl, Jeffery, Sabrina, Cadence, Cohen, Johnny and Sadie. Stella lived a long and full life. She loved when family and friends would come to visit. Christmas and Easter were always special times, food that she prepared with loving care always brought smiles to everyone's faces. Eight years ago Stella moved from Cooks Creek to Transcona to be closer to her daughters. She loved visiting and shopping on Fridays, Bingo on Wednesdays, church on Sunday always in Cooks Creek. She still had her driver's license and shoveled her own sidewalks. Stella has left us with one of her best friends at her side. You were a wonderful wife, loving mother, mother-in-law and very proud grandmother. We miss you deeply. Your love will live with us forever and ever. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Seasons Funeral Chapel, 576 Balsam Crescent, Oak Bank. Divine Liturgy will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church in Cooks Creek, MB. Interment to follow at parish cemetery.
