ERWIN (ERV) SCHMIDT June 13, 1956 - January 9, 2014 Surrounded by loved ones, Erv, beloved husband of Rowena, passed away peacefully at Health Sciences Centre, January 9, 2014, due to heart complications, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Erv will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of 28 years, his three kids and their families, his eight brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews and all of his extended family on Rowena's side. Heartfelt thanks go out to all the doctors, nurses and staff involved in the care of Erv over these past years. We are so thankful for the extra years we were blessed with his presence in our lives. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations in Erwin's memory may be directed to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715

Good bye Ervin, I'm going to miss you so much... I'm going to miss the way you light up a room with your non stop talking...lol... A smile that always made everyone feel welcomed... And laughed at everything. You had a grateful and forgiving heart, and never had anything bad or a negative thing to say about anyone... You were always there for every family function. You were always there when a family member called upon you to help. Even when you where sick, I never saw anyone more courageous than you. Regardless how sick you were, you always managed a smile and a story to tell. You were a great, devoted husband, stepdad, best friend, a great brother & brother-in-law and uncle... everyone should have one like you. You were unique and one of kind. Even on your last breath Erv... You were trying to talk so hard and trying to sell your tires...lol. Erv you were so loved and we didn't tell you enough... You will be the missing piece of the puzzle at the family gatherings. From my heart to yours Erv ... I loved you... I'm so glad I got to talk to you and tell you I loved you and we prayed together before you left us. So have a fun and great time, because I know you will be continuing talking and entertaining everyone up there... For you Erv were an awesome blessing to all... You may be gone in body but Forever in mine and our hearts...
