ARVILLA MEACHAM Arvilla Meacham deceased January 13, 2014. Arvilla was born on June 5, 1921 in Transcona, Manitoba. Her Mom and Dad, Stanley and Hazel Franklin raised four daughters, Arvilla was the third. Arvilla was predeceased by her Mom and Dad, sisters Daphne (John) Duncan, Iris (John) Curtis and Jacqueline (Ed) Jarvis. As well she was predeceased by her husband Al Meacham, her daughter Charlene Yarrow and son-in-law Al Beaman. Mourning Mom's passing are son Douglas (Sandy) Meacham, son Russell (Janet and family) Meacham, grandchildren Ross (Becca) Meacham, Scott Meacham, Amy (Robin) Hunter and great-grandsons Tieg Meacham and Mac Meacham and a large, loving extended family. Mom was a quiet and happy child and lived through a depression and a great war. As was expected, she attended secretarial school and found a job in Winnipeg. In 1948, she married Al Meacham and they had a wonderful 52 years together. Together they raised their family in Elmwood and provided their children, neighbours, friends and family with some of the greatest life experiences ever. Mom was always positive about life and had a great sense of humour. She loved music. She enjoyed meeting new friends and after retirement, she and Alan travelled and enjoyed many activities. When Dad passed away in 2001, she went to live in Amber Meadows where she enjoyed her new life despite being blind. The last three years were more difficult as she had to live in a personal care facility and the staff at Kildonan Personal Care Home were wonderful. Some may choose to send flowers but Mom supported the Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Wildlife Federation, the CNIB. Her church Gordon King Memorial and she loved Rainbow Stage. Donations in her memory would be appreciated. Service details are pending. KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson Hwy. - 338-0331 Condolences may be sent to www.klassenfuneralhome.com
