SHIRLEY J. MULLIN 1922 - 2014 Shirley J. Mullin, born November 11, 1922 in North Battleford, SK, died peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Winnipeg. Predeceased by her mother Eunice Whipple Mullin, brother Douglas Ben Mullin, and nephew Douglas Mitchell Mullin. Survived by sister-in-law Margaret N. Mullin, nieces June Mullin, Susanne (Mullin) Mandryk (Dan), Kathy Mullin Jones (Kevin), great-nieces Shanna (Mandryk) Hokanson (Glen), and Margaret N. Mullin, great-nephew Daniel R. Mandryk, great-great-nephew Chance Hokanson, great-great-nieces Alexandria R. and Peyton A. Hokanson, and extended family members Anne Mandryk and Wendy Mandryk. Shirley lived most of her life in Winnipeg and retired from Eaton's after many years of service. She was a private person with a great sense of humour and a love of nature, animals and the outdoors. She loved to walk, ride her bike and was always ready to share a joke or two, to lighten your day. Her faith was unwavering and she often spoke about what a good life she had lived. Shirley was a very kind person and all that knew her were touched by this and her desire to share uplifting quotes or poems that she had learned from her mother. This one in particular, was one of her favourites and is an example of the way she lived her life. Kindness Henry Burton Have you had a kindness shown? Pass it on; Twas not given for thee alone, Pass it on; Let it travel down the years, Let it wipe another's tears, Till in Heaven the deed appears - Pass it on Shirley is resting peacefully now and will be missed by those who knew her best. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the 3rd floor staff at Poseidon Care Centre for the excellent care she received from you all over the last couple of years. The transition into a personal care home was very difficult for Shirley, and she would often say, "I guess this is my home now, but I have no complaints, they take real good care of me here". In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Boniface Hospital Research. Shirley will be cremated and as per her request, a funeral will not be held.
