RITA MAE KAZINA (nee PELUK) It is with a heavy heart that the family announces the passing of Rita Mae Kazina, peacefully on January 21, 2014 at the age of 80. Rita is survived by her son David, granddaughter Sydney (mom Cynthia), her brother Ed Peluk (Dolores) and nieces and nephews Alan Peluk, Ron Peluk (Lori), Shirley Saluk (Randy) and Sandra Faryon (Rick). She is predeceased by her husband Paul Kazina (1998), her mother Mary Peluk (2004) and her father Steven Peluk (1961). Rita was born May 5, 1933 and grew up on the farm in Ladywood, Manitoba. After marrying Paul Kazina on June 19, 1954 she moved to Winnipeg where she worked as an office assistant for several years. When her son, David, was born in 1963 she left her job and became a full time mom. Rita never again worked outside of the home, dedicating herself to the raising of her son, taking care of the home and pursuing her interests. Rita loved to knit and to garden. She was an excellent cook and loved to bake. First and foremost was her passion for taking care of her family. The family wishes to thank all of the staff and residents at Riverview Health Centre that touched her life in so many different ways. She always received loving care and was treated with respect and admiration. If friends so desire, a contribution to the Manitoba Alzheimer Society in memory of Rita may be made online or by phone. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Parish (489 Winterton Ave., Winnipeg, phone 204-667-8866). Interment and reception will follow at Glen Eden Cemetery (4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB, 204-338-7111). Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 338-7111
