HAROLD PAYNE WHITNEY It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Harold on January 23, 2014, at 89 years of age in Winnipeg. He is survived by his children: Carol, Susan, and Wendy (Ron); grandchildren Jason, Christopher, Jeremy, Jeff (Kris), Leah (Mark); great-grandchildren Jazmine, Kaylee, Devon, Taylour and Baby Amy as well as close family friend Allison Burek. Harold was predeceased by his wife Amy. From 1942 to 1945 Harold served in the Canadian Air Force in England, where he met his future wife of 58 years, Amy. They got married and raised three daughters. Harold worked for Winnipeg Transit as a Bus Driver for 32 years, and won numerous Safety Awards, as well as Bus Driver of the Month and Year. The funeral for Harold will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East at Navin Road in Winnipeg. The family would like to thank the Palliative Care Unit Staff at St. Boniface Hospital for their care and kindness.
