GEORGE STEWARD BRUCE George Stewart Bruce, born December 21, 1941 passed away on January 24, 2014 at the St. Boniface General Hospital after a month long battle with meningitis. George Bruce beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle leaves behind Susan Margaret Bruce, wife of 49 years and three children George Bruce Jr. (Bonnie Bruce), Steven Bruce (Penny Bruce), and Kelly Bruce. Six grandchildren: Amber, Stuart, Mandy, Jocelyn, Kaitlyn and Emily. He was predeceased by his parents William Martin Bruce and Alberta Peace (nee Ware), and sister Donna Jessanne Ford. George loved life and loved people. He enjoyed being part of the community as a greeter at two local stores in Steinbach where he flourished with his booming voice. Saying hello to all who passed and chatting with anyone who was inclined. His free spirit shone through every day with his jovial spirit and thunderous laugh. December was a special month for George as he helped Santa at the local mall as a double, keeping the dreams and wishes of youngsters alive, a task easily done with his huge heart. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 2:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone Bible Church, 290 First Street, Steinbach, MB R5L 0T5. I had the great pleasure of working for George at Unisys many years ago and I have to say he was one of the best supervisors I ever had. He was always so kind and happy and had such a way of making you feel appreciated no matter how stressful or how much work there was to do. His boisterous laugh could be heard throughout the building daily and always took the time to help out wherever he could. My sincere condolences go to the entire family. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. - Posted by: Noreen Allsopp (Co-worker from Unisys (Burroughs)) on: Jan 27, 2014
