GEORGE RINK It is with deepest sadness we announce the sudden passing of George Rink on January 24, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents John and Mathilde Rink. Left to mourn are his wife Leanne, daughters Elizabeth and Rebecca (Matt), brothers Dieter (Diane), Warner (Joan), John (Valerie), Gary (Julie), Harry (Barb), nieces and nephews. George's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, whether it be at a dance recital, ball diamond, endless weekends in a gym or long drives on the open road. George had a smile for everyone he met, and enjoyed striking up conversations. He will forever be in our hearts. Gone, but not forgotten. A celebration of George's life will take place Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. • As a close friend of Liz, I had the pleasure of meeting George a couple of times. I'll never forget the time Liz and I were heading down to the states for Black Friday shopping and her George left us with the SUV and chocolate bars in case we got hungry on the way. He was such a caring man who always looked out for everyone. He will be deeply missed and in the hearts of many. - Posted by: Shae McConnell () on: Jan 31, 2014

  • I had the pleasure of meeting George for the first time in Sept. 1983. We hit it off right from the start. We met Leanne for the 1st time in Feb. 1985, it was the 1st time George had met Danielle as well. The 4 of us seemed to be like peas in a pod. We enjoyed each other's company and had a good number of get togethers after that. The laughs never stopped and although the distance between us in miles was always far it never deterred us from getting together whenever we could. George will always be in our hearts and our warmest memories - Posted by: Gary & Danielle Polishak (Good Friend) on: Jan 29, 2014
