Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA (OLLIE) BARTKOW (nee MELLEN) April 16, 1926 January 26, 2014 With great sorrow we announce the passing of auntie Ollie on January 26, 2014 at Seven Oaks Hospital. She will be sadly missed by her sister, Elizabeth Bedard, numerous nieces and nephews, and everybody that knew her. Ollie was predeceased by her husband Jerry, parents Nicholas and Helen, brother Harry, and sister Jan. On April 26, 1926 Ollie was born in Mulvihill, MB. In 1941, with her family, she moved to Winnipeg, where she finished her schooling at Faraday School and Isaac Newton. Her first job was with Eaton's, working in the mail order department. She moved on and continued her working career with Gambles department store and some market research firms. But it was her last job, spending time at the casino, which she enjoyed most. Jackpots big or small, she loved them all. We would like to extend a special thanks to all the doctors and nurses that were involved in her care. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. I am very sad to hear "Auntie" Ollie passed. She was my next door neighbor when I was a child and was part of my parents "Supper Club" for 48 years. I remember when I was growing up how her and Uncle Jerry used to sit on their front porch and watch me and my brothers along with all the neighborhood kids play. She always had a special treat for us. The fondest memory I have is when she found out that I had been eating all the dog treats she left out for her dog JOJO. Her and Jerry never let me forget that! She will be greatly missed by my mother Helen, my brothers and me. - Posted by: Tracy Quinn Gasior (Friend) on: Feb 01, 2014
