LUELLA MAE ROBERTSON (nee MYERS) December 5, 1917 February 1, 2014 Luella was born in Kenora, ON, lived her youth in Transcona, lived in Winnipeg after marrying Harry, and after his demise, moved to Barrie, ON, where she passed away peacefully at Wood's Park Care Centre. She is survived and missed by her children: son William "Bayne" of Whitehorse, Yukon Territory; daughters, Donalda M. Letkeman (Denis) of Empress, AB; and Cheryle L. Stevenson (Bob) of Barrie, ON; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren! Predeceased by her husband, Harry Gravely Robertson; daughter, Joan Francis Robertson (Kurytnik); two great-grandchildren, Cory Letkeman, Stonewall, and Dillan Friesen, Petersfield; parents Frank and Ethel Myers; three brothers, Allen, Transcona, Kenneth, Prince George, BC, and Robert (Bob), Stratford, ON; two sisters, Edna Bradley, Pleasantville, New Jersey, and Ruby How, Transcona. In the thirties, Luella was an enthusiastic baseball player for the Transcona Ladies League. Her married years were spent curling at Charleswood and Pembina Ladies Clubs, and golfing at Transcona Golf Club. She was an active member on the Bethel and Provincial Councils for Job's Daughters International, and a forty-year-plus member of Patricia Chapt. No. 8, Order of the Eastern Star. In her later years, Luella enjoyed lawn bowling, being a coach to new players, and serving as Past President and Life Member of both the Tuxedo Lawn Bowling Club and the Manitoba Lawn Bowling Association. Her devotion to Lawn Bowling played the lead role in the building of the Clubhouse in Tuxedo in 1990. Luella was a recipient of the Governor General of Canada's Award for Volunteer Service to the Winnipeg Community. It is the wishes of the deceased for immediate cremation, and a private graveside service and interment in the Gravely/Robertson family plot, St. James Anglican Cemetery, at a time set by the family.
