ROBERT PRISE April 3, 1932 - February 7, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Prise aged 81 years, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Bob is survived by his sons, Sandy (Gayanne), James (Judith), Douglas (Joan); daughter Laura (Bruce); grandchildren, Ian, Felicia, Jaxon (Angel), Caleb (Chelsea), Jeff (Lindsey), Lindsay (Wade), Leith, Stephanie, Melanie, Blane, Lexie; great-grandchildren, Tripp, Ajax, Sadie, Brody; sister Jean (Frank); brothers, Gordon and Colin (Denise). Bob was predeceased by his wife Margaret of 43 years in 1994; wife Cathy of 8 years in 2004, son Robert John and brother Jack. Bob was born in Greeness, Scotland to parents, Robert and Mabel. Bob and Margaret married in 1951 and immigrated to Canada in 1959. They wanted to give their children all the opportunities Canada had to offer. Eventually they were able to buy their own farm outside of Gimli and raise their family. Bob was an avid volunteer. Over the years he became President of Gimli Kiwanis, President of Gimli Legion where he started the weekly meat draw. He was Master of the Viking Lodge in Gimli, Deputy Grand Master of the 10th District, member of the Royal Arch, Scottish Rite and the Shriners. Bob was very proud of his Scottish Heritage, running the Robbie Burns Suppers for the Legion and Masons for several years. After many years of farming, Bob enjoyed selling real estate in the Interlake. Bob was always very proud of this family and all their accomplishments. He enjoyed "faxing" them all to keep in touch. The family wish to thank Dr. Wong and all the staff at the Gimli Hospital for all the care and compassion given to Dad and our family over the years. In lieu of flower, donations can be made to the Minerva Ladies Aid, Emphysema Foundation or to a charity of one's choice. A service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at the Gimli Legion, 146 6th Avenue. Interment will take place at Forglen Cemetery, Scotland in April 2014.

It has been a real pleasure knowing you Bob. We always enjoyed your kind hospitality in offering us a drink every time we met. Hope to share more drinks with you in heaven. We will miss seeing you at Marguerite's place and at the Senior breakfast before the Gimli Parades. Our deepest sympathy to all your family and to Marguerite. - Posted by: Marcel & Genevieve Perchotte (friend of a long time ago, when we were both a lot younger. I met Bob several years ago while traveling to Canada to fish with his son and my friend, James. From the moment I met him, Bob treated me like family. I've never met a more genuine person. Life is about the journey and the people one meets. Having the opportunity to get to know Bob and to be lucky enough to call him my friend is one of the great blessings of my life. I will think about him every time I visit Canada. - Posted by: Ray Hoppenjans (Friend) on: Feb 22, 2014
