• Uncle Arthur lived with Aunty Bertha near us when we were young in Winnipeg, on Robinson St. I think we all adored him because he was good, kind and was a happy soul. At least that's the way I remember him when I was small. He will be remembered fondly and not be forgotten. He is the last of my mother Josephine's siblings. I would visit most times when I came to Winnipeg. We'd make it a small gathering with Theresa and Rubin and Margaret and on occasion Pauline. He'd still visit with us when we were all together. The last visit Theresa Margaret and Linda and myself went and he was not so talkative but he'd listen and shake his head when Linda would tease him. He also spoke french so we couldn't understand him so we'd have to remind him to talk in English. He was frail, more so since the time before but we wanted to let him know he was not forgotten. I am so glad we got to visit with him and I was able to wrap my arms around him and kiss him on the forehead goodbye. That was how I always said good bye to him. I will remember him as I did when he was younger in good health, happy and kind and such a sharp dresser. He looked so good in his hat and coat. I will remember him that way.
