  • Thanks for all the wonderfull stories from friends. It is fun to hear about how my grandpa was to people other than his family. He was a family man in my eyes. He always was there for me and he never failed to show me he loved me. I remember being a young girl and going to Sun Valley with Fred and Marlene. I remember always getting introduced into his long time "trucker friends" and I met a lot of them! One memory I have in particular about going to Sun Valley is Fred always had to try and win me a teddy bear from the "Claw Machine" by the door....10 dollars later we had a numerous amount of teddy bears..haha Brooke. - Posted by: Brooke Harding-boboski (Grand Daughter ) on: Mar 01, 2014

  • I met my Buddy Fred in Grand Rapids. I was a gas jockey at the local gas station. There is alot of stuff me and Fred did. He was a very nice man. I am hurt to hear of his passing. R.I.P. MY Friend, till we meet again. - Posted by: Bruce Ballantyne (Long Time Friend) on: Feb 27, 2014

  • I am so sorry hear about your loved dad. I never forgot that Fred was driving his semi trailer on a winter road to Island Lake, Manitoba, where were I lived for 1 year in 1986. I had a chat with him for a short time, was busy, hauled lots of food like sugar, flour, gas proprane, he was off quick before road Ice melted so several semi trailer trucks must leave back to Winnipeg on winter road. I am glad that your dad is safe and peacefully in heaven 🙏 - Posted by: Charlene (Friend of Bonnie ) on: Feb 21, 2014

  • Although I haven't seen Freddie in person in many years since moving to B.C. We would keep in touch by phone, he really was a tru trucker. My daughter owned a Diner here in Penticton catering to long haul truckers. One day a trucker came in and we starting talkingvabout semis. I told him my brother was a dispatcher at Gardwine in Wpg, he said he hauled for Gardwine asked his name and I said Fred Harding he started to laugh and that (so so) sent me out here through those d____mountains , I have forgotten his name, he Had never been to Penticton before we sat and chatted and told me stories about, him I felt so good hearing from someone who had worked with Fred He was one of kind, and always kept me updated on his kids, he will always be my big brother. Thinking about you all. Ps in case no one knows Marlene and we're best friends then she met Fred an became my sister in law. • Fred was a real truckers trucker as I can recall. He and I ran Team for 6 months in 1975. Fred showed me how to drive and act like a pro- driver. I carried on for many years the lessons he taught. I can still recall having coffee with him and Marlene at Sun Valley restaurant, reminiscing about the good times we all had. Especially memorable, were the Saturday night Parties at the Oak Point Chalet. My deepest condolences to his family. Rest in peace Moon Rider. - Posted by: Peter Polet (friend) on: Feb 18, 2014
