NORMAN HUNTER 1939 - 2014 After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather on February 17, 2014, at the age of 74. Memory of Norm will always be cherished by his wife Marilyn, son Curtis (Helen), grandchildren Kristen (Phil), Stacie (Paul), and Dylan, daughter Corinne (Kevin), grandchildren Tim, Katelyn (Mike) and great-grandchildren Brodeigh and Kale, daughter-in-law Vicki, grandchildren Holly and Jesse, sister Dolores (Bob), niece Karen, Karen's children Brittani, Jared and Tyrell. He will also be lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law Doris, brothers-in-law Wayne (Clarice), Ron (Flo), nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Norm was predeceased by his youngest son Carey, parents Bart and Alice, father-in-law George and brother-in-law Bob. Norm was born at the St. Boniface Hospital on June 18, 1939. He resided in Gypsumville, MB, St. Catherine's, ON, and Winnipeg. At the early age of 14, Norm began his working career beginning with various construction companies. He decided to take his apprenticeship in painting and decorating. He worked as a supervisor for Norlen Painting and Decorating until Mr. Norlen retired, then started his own business Hunter's Painting and Decorating, retiring himself at an early age due to health problems. Norm was an avid hunter, fisherman and a great sports fan. His sharp wit and humour would keep everyone laughing and gained him many friends. He truly enjoyed his bowling on Monday morning and Friday morning, and missed his teammates and friends during his illness. The family would like to express our thanks and appreciation to everyone who has supported us and helped us during Norm's illness. Thanks to the Concordia Emergency staff. Special thanks to the Concordia Cancer Care nurses and the Riverview Palliative care nurses, who went above and beyond to help brighten each day. Thanks to all our family and friends for the phone calls, visits and cards. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Norm's name to Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care Unit 3E, Winnipeg Humane Society, Ducks Unlimited or a charity of one's choice. I'm so very sad to hear of the passing of my great-uncle Norm. I have a lot of fond memories of him from when I was young. Norm was always joking around and was an incredibly likeable fellow. My deepest condolences to my great-auntie Marilyn, my aunts, my uncles, and my cousins. Brit - Posted by: Brit () on: Feb 23, 2014

Norm bowled on our Monday morning league. He was so funny he made everyone laugh, he was a man that you could talk to all day long. He just loved seeing us and his friends. When my husband and I bought Roxy in 2009 Norm always supproted us, he never complained when we would change something, he was a kind & positive person. We will all miss you Norm. Rest in peace our friend. - Posted by: Roxy Lanes (Melissa & Robert Gauthier & Becky) (Friend- League member) on: Feb 22, 2014
