SANDRA CAROL THORGILSSON (EINARSON) December 16, 1947 - February 22, 2014 Sandra Thorgilsson of Lundar, MB, passed away peacefully with family by her side, at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital. Sandra will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Welland, of 45 years; children Sheryl (Larry), Wade (Angela), Wendy (Jake), Steven (Sandra), Stewart (Carla); grandchildren Nicole (Gary), Lauren, Lane, Taylor, Sydney, Madison, Jaclyn, Brooke, Jillian, Bjorn, Carmen, Emily, and great-grandchildren Harley, Leighton and Hayden. She is also survived by her sister Louise; sister-in-law Karen; brothers-in-law Marvin (Sharon) and Wayne along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Geiri and Inga; sister Gloria; brothers-in-law Bergsveinn, Jack, Arthur, and niece Diane. Mom grew up on the farm in the Maryhill District and, after graduating from Lundar Collegiate, moved to Winnipeg and attended Red River Community College. In 1968 Mom and Dad were married and they moved to the family farm where they farmed and raised their five children. Mom's greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren and she always put family first. Once we were older, Mom pursued another passion that was working with flowers and purchased the flower shop in Lundar and later added what is now Sandra's Greenhouse. Mom was a very hard worker all her life whether it was farming, raising children, or managing various businesses. Mom had many friends and enjoyed visiting and catching up over coffee. Her friends knew her door was always open, with the coffee pot on and quite often they would find a slice of her homemade bread. She will always be in our thoughts, and forever in our hearts, "Goda Nott Elska". A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at the Lundar Lutheran Church with Pastor Terry Throndson officiating. Interment to follow at the Otto Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital Guild, c/o Irene Sigurdson, P.O. Box 474, Eriksdale, MB R0C 0W0.
