  • What can I say it's been 9 years now since you passed away, not a day goes by that I don't miss everything, the way you make fun, the way you live, you tell jokes, the way you are always there to check in with her, everything was going well. I miss you I hope you're proud and the man I Have Become. I wish that you could have met your other two grandkids they would have loved you and you I'm sorry for the last thing that we did was fight. I wish I could take it back I miss you so much and one day I hope to see you again till that time dad - Posted by: Dustin hill (Son) on: Mar 14, 2023

  • This year has been so very difficult for so much of the WORLD due to COVID-19 and it is times like this that we tend to remember with love and good memories, all our family/friends who passed on. Doug and I were friends for a very long time and it is so refreshing to say ""In all that time, WE NEVER EVER had an argument". Hope you are doing well Doug with Martin and all your family. Sure do miss you a lot and with it being your birthday last month, the sadness was there again. Such A GOOD MAN AND DEAR FRIEND... I am proud to have been your friend..... Till we meet again, way down the road I pray, take care and just be yourself..... xo xo xo xo - Posted by: Randy and Dianne (Dianne - friend of Doug's since 1969) on: Jul 11, 2020

  • Well Doug, it has been almost 5 months since you were called home and it still doesn't ring true that you are gone. How could things have changed so quickly. I talked to you on the Friday before and you were so excited as the Girls were getting their Gold Medals at the Winter Olympics and you were so full of life and so happy. Sadly, your body was tired and wearing out and you could not stay with us. You must be so excited about the Bombers this year. I call them the WILLYPEG BLUE BOMBERS because of Drew Willy, their #1 starting QB and he has good form and a good arm and they have 3 wins in a row. WOW EH????? Randy and I will be going over to the house on Saturday for a BBQ and Pool party as Karen got a new pool, but you will be looking down and enjoying the day too, so I guess I had better let you go now. Heh kiddo, do you realize that in all the time we knew each other -- pretty close to 43 years, we never had an argument or fight or anything. Awesome eh..... I am very proud to have called you my friend and look forward to the day I see you again. Take care and will write again one day. We miss you Doug and we love you. • My sincere condolences to the Hill family. Doug and I have been friends since he and his family first moved across the street from me in Carman when we were both in elementary school. He was always a good friend to me and his passing has brought back an enormous amount of great memories we had from out school days, times at the cottage and many more. A great friend and family man, he will be sadly missed. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Jack Pethybridge (long time friend) on: Mar 02, 2014

  • Doug was like a second father to me, I have known him since I was a child. I am best friends with Shannon Carter, I loved going to her place, Doug and Karen made me feel at home. He used to make me laugh. He was a good man. The last time I saw Doug was 2 years ago and he was so happy to see me, we sat at Shannon's place and talked, it was like old times, him making jokes at Shannon, he meant well, he is in a good place now, and will be missed, Love Jodie Brietzke - Posted by: Jodie Brietzke (Friend of the Family) on: Mar 01, 2014

  • My condolences for the loss of such a fine, decent person that Doug was. I remember when I was going through my own loss (my fiancee died Nov. 2001), I attended the staff Xmas party that December. I was still in a severe state of shock. Doug, Karen, Tanis were amongst those that really made a difference during that time. The whole family was gentle with my soul and their attention helped me during a very horrible period in my life. Karen, if there is anything I can do, even just to talk, please call me (204)284-0056. Doug was a good man, and will be missed by many. - Posted by: April Girardeau (Family friend) on: Mar 01, 2014
