Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKRISTJON CARDINAL (CARDY) HALLDORSON On Tuesday, February 25, 2014 Kristjon Halldorson of Gimli, MB peacefully passed away at the age of 77 years. Cardy will be respectfully remembered by his children, Vernon Curtis (Lois), Catherine Robin (Darran Draper) and Kris Jon (Crystal), brother Thor Halldorson, sisters, Yvonne Paizen and Elizabeth Thom, grandchildren; Lauren, Aaron, Hillary, Emma and Loa, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Cardy was predeceased by his wife Bonnie Halldorson and remaining to appreciate his memory are her children Joanne, Rae-Anne, Cory and Ricki-Dawn along with step- grandchildren. Family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Fisher Branch Personal Care Home and Gimli Betel Personal Care Home as well as Gimli Hospital nurses for their kind care for our father. A service honouring Cardy will be held at Gimli Lutheran Church, 52 3rd Avenue in Gimli on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or Canadian Diabetes Association, 200-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. I've heard so many stories about my grandfather. Reading the guest book has given me an even greater idea of my Afi not only as a grandfather, but as a co-worker, brother, and friend. I knew cousin Cardy only as a teenager 60 years ago...and want to say that the comments by his friend and neighbor, Debbie Churchill describe the young guy I met at that time. As a teenager Cardy was friendly, full of fun and good humor, and I know his dad, Kriss, was a good and caring brother to his youngest sister, my mum, Sigga 'Rose'. My heartfelt condolences to the family. Cardy was a kind and gentle soul now gone to join his sweetheart. By far the best neighbour I have ever had the good fortune to experience. Cardy became a friend and extended family to me and my children. Fondly known as the "Tree Pusher" he had hero status with Lewis. Many good times were spent at the kitchen table, in the back yard and camping.
