SUE WILLIAMS Sue Williams passed away at home on February 26, 2014, with a smile on her face and surrounded by her family, whom she loved dearly. She was 59 years old. Sue is gone but who was she? She was my partner, friend and soulmate for 26 wonderful years. She taught me about love and living life to the fullest. The family that meant so much to her will always remember her legacy of love and laughter, her son Kerry, her son Mike, her brother Lindsay and her sister Judy. The moments Sue was able to share with her grandson Archie, gave her immeasurable happiness. Words cannot express the love she had for her nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. Sue loved her animals and over her lifetime had so many wonderful pets. They gave her such joy, especially her horse Jabba. Sue was an accomplished artist, a skillful writer with the study and teaching of yoga being her life's passion. She was an inspiration to most everyone she met. The universe had a different plan for Sue than what she had expected but she handled the shifting winds with great courage and grace. She was a loving, sweet soul and will be dearly missed. Sue loved the community she lived in and to continue her passion of helping people, she established a trust fund to support local youth, adults and single parents who require assistance to pursue their dreams through further education. Donations to the "Sue Williams Trust" can be made at any Sunova Credit Union. For further information please contact Jeanette Groenheide at (204) 444-3932, jjgroenh@mymts.net or Karen Cook at (204) 853-7384, karenc@nlis.ca. I would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to everyone for their love and support, kind words and letters. A special thank you to Jolene, you are an angel. Thank you very much Aurora and Lorraine for your gentle, loving care. A sincere thank you to Karen who has been a constant source of strength for us. As per Sue's wishes, she has been cremated and a celebration of her life will take place in April. A notice of the date will be announced. I will always love you Sue...Love Danielle. "Sounds of laughter, shades of life are ringing through my open ears, exciting and inviting me. Limitless undying love, which shines around me like a million suns, it calls me on and on across the universe." Jai Guru Deva Om Remember the Breath. Namaste. www.seasonsfunerals.ca

Its 5am April 11th/ 2014 and I’ve woken up thinking about yoga and you and what a deep soulful difference you made in my life while my teacher. I wanted to tell you how grateful I am that you were willing to share your ability to bring balance, strength and integrity to everything you showed me. It gave me something to thrive after. Part of my soul aches for you and I know this is not the way of the Western Buddhist. A phone call lets me know that I am too late to send this to you in ordinary reality. And I am sad that I didn’t take the time to sit with you and wonder about the unpredictables. But I want you to know that your gentle and caring ways cannot be matched. I have tried to think of what to say many times and today spirit is speaking and I am the transcriber. The pains and the pitfalls on the perilous path were often softened by your gentle wisdom and heartfelt smiles and laughter, stretching and breathing the beauty into being. My world was richer because of your joyful and peaceful approach. And I want to wish you a joyful and merry sojourn on this great healing journey of yours and hope that you are able to be still and prepared for the spiritual dance that now enchants you. It is with goodwill that I send this along to you and I just want you to know that no one can ever replace that wonderful spirit that shone through you. Dear Sue & family... Sue's family included so many of us that have felt so honoured to be touched by her presence; the gift of herself. After having been injured at work and finally able to attend yoga again, I stepped into Sue's studio... That's all & so much more... She was an inspiration... Job well done sweet woman! I remember giggling and dancing at Ms Purdys. I remember what a strong stand you could take and not flinch. I remember us getting searched at the border because you had some old sage in your ashtray. I remember how happy you always were with Danielle and all the loving dinners she made us. I remember all the times you gave me shelter without ever asking how long I would be staying. I remember the confidence you walked with when you discovered that you could leave a legacy of empowering many women. I remember admiring your commitment to raising sons who respected women. So many wonderful footprints you leave behind. - Posted by: Carie Winslow (Friend) on: Mar 06, 2014

To my wonderful cousin Sue. I remember the good old days we spent out at the lake at Uncle Archie's cabin. The great times we had learning how to water ski, or just our wonderful walks down the beach. The long talks about life. Sue was full of life, and loved her children, Kerry and Michael. You will always be a special person in my heart. Now I have another special angel to watch over us. I wish that you could have met my two beautiful daughters. They love horses just as much as you did. Huge hugs to Danielle and Kerry, Michael Lindsay and Judy. - Posted by: Karen Antony (cousin) on: Mar 04, 2014

At yoga tonight, you were there, your smiling face, your gentle touch and your soothing presence. I am truly grateful that you were part of my journey and healing, Sue. You were a teacher, a mentor and a friend who touched not only my soul, but the souls of so many. I will always carry you in my heart. A beautiful light will be shining above us rather than with us now that Sue has passed. She was such a kind, compassionate person. Her classes were a wonderful experience and time inside her yoga studio just evaporated. I can still hear her voice urging me to "remember the breath" and I call upon my memory of her voice whenever I need it. - Posted by: Ingrid Pflug ((student and friend)) on: Mar 03, 2014

My Aunt Sue was amazing. As a little girl on her farm, I learned a love for the outdoors, for animals and riding. She taught me to smile, enjoy life and to be positive. Her heart stretched to everyone. My own daughters were blessed with her teachings and love as well. Horse and donkey riding, treasure hunts, crafts and games. Thank you Auntie Sue. You told me recently you wished you could have done more, but you did more than most people ever do in a full lifetime. You lived, you loved, taught and gave. We will forever miss you. ❤️ - Posted by: Kim (Niece) on: Mar 03, 2014

It is a fact that I quit smoking 8 years ago because Sue said to me (in a yoga class) to take deep breathes to achieve maximum effectiveness of yoga. I thought to myself that I couldn't take deep breathes because of my lack of lung capacity so I quit. Thank you Sue for showing me the way. Namaste. I wish Sue's family peace and harmony through this difficult period. - Posted by: Mary Veldman (aquaintance) on: Mar 02, 2014

Danielle! What a beautiful tribute! What lovely words and they matched the love you shared throughout the years. You now belong to the widows club so know that there is much acceptance and acknowledgment of the love you and Sue shared. That can never be taken from you. I am so glad I visited you and Sue in the fall and Kathy and I visited in April. Take the time you need to heal and surround yourself only with love. We are just a call away. Love you. - Posted by: Denise Needham (long time of you both good friend) on: Mar 02, 2014

When I tell my little class to ‘check your feet’, ‘melt your heart’, ‘hug the muscles to the bone’, ‘loosen the death grip’,‘when the going gets tough, the tough go to the washroom’ - all those little Sue-isms - I see your face before me and I smile in my heart. You are my mentor, my teacher, my friend. I cherish the conversations we have had and I will continue to grow in my learning with your guidance from the Universe. You have left such a legacy on this earth in the short time we were blessed with your humour, spirituality and loving presence. I know in my heart that you have achieved Samadhi and are at the most perfect peace. Namaste. To Sue’s family and friends, and especially Danielle – smile at remembrance and be comforted in your sorrow... - Posted by: Pam Buhr (student, friend) on: Mar 02, 2014

Dear Danielle and Judy, I am so sorry to hear about Sue's passing. This came as a total shock to me. I did not know that Sue was sick. The passage you wrote Danielle about Sue and her life was so beautiful. I am honored to have known the both of you 26 years ago when you first met and fell in love with each other. It was so inspirational to see your love for each other take hold and flourish over the years. I have so many fond memories of Sue during all our time together working on women's issues for MACSW and MediaWatch. Even though I had not seen Sue very much over the past few years, I always remembered her with great fondness. I wish to offer my condolences to you Danielle and to Sue's children and sister Judy and brother and other family members as well. - Posted by: Wendy Scheirich (friend) on: Mar 01, 2014

It is with a heavy heart I read of Sue's passing. It is a moment of loss, I know she would firmly direct me to look to the positive. Mostly I remember the joy, laughter and adventure of studying the real life learning of yoga. From the cold little room at Lori's, the jam packed, laughter filled studio at Lila's to her dream studio. Thanks Sue. Love you! Hugs Danielle and Karen. I am leaving the province in April but hopefully will be here to celebrate her life Love Carol - Posted by: Carol Lundman (friend) on: Mar 01, 2014
