Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE ST-ONGE (née MARCOUX) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alice St-Onge (née Marcoux) on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at St. Norbert Personal Care Home, at the age of 97. She leaves to mourn her children Annette, Lorraine, and Marc (Irène), her grandchildren Bridget (Tony) Robucci, Christine Schnurrer (John), Jeffery Schnurrer, Michael Schnurrer (Sherry), Patrick St-Onge, and Eric St-Onge (Meredith), her great-grandchildren Nico and Eva Robucci, as well as several nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Henri, her parents Théodule and Emma (née Fontaine) Marcoux, her sister Eva Guillou, her brothers-in-law, Louis Guillou and Roger St-Onge, her sister-in-law, Alice St-Onge (née Ritchot), and her son-in-law, Gordon McAndrew. Born on December 21, 1916 in Richer, Manitoba, Alice moved to Aubigny, Manitoba at the age of three with her family where her father operated the general store and post office. She married Henri on September 22, 1943 at Aubigny, where they operated the family farm until their retirement. She was involved in several community activities including La Caisse Populaire d'Aubigny, La Ligue des Femmes Catholiques, and various church committees. She was the correspondent for the local newspapers for several years. Alice was also a teacher for many years at the Youville School near Morris, and at Ecole Ste-Agathe until her retirement in 1969. Mémère and Pépère moved to Eiffel Tower Apartment in St-Boniface in 1983, where they got together with many new friends, as well as several old friends from back home. Mom resided at Catherine Place until 2010 and then at St. Norbert Personal Care Home for the last three and a half years of her life. A special thank you is extended to the staff at St. Norbert Personal Care Home for the special care they provided. A private service will take place with interment in Aubigny, Manitoba. Sincere sympathies to Annette, Lorraine, Marc & families. Your Mom, Tante Alice, will always have a special place in our hearts. She must be so happy to finally meet with her beloved Henri, her Mom & Dad and her sister.
