JOHN GUEZEN 1935 - 2014 After a short illness John Guezen passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Nellie of 52 years and his children Ingrid (Ken), Mike (Janice), Carol (Gerry), Timo (Angela), grandchildren Megan, Colin, Daniel, Jessica, Sean, David, Benjamin, Cameron, Justin, and Abby. John immigrated to Canada in 1968 followed by his wife and children six weeks later. He worked for Monarch Industries as a patternmaker and shop manager until his retirement. John spent many happy years with his family at the cottage in the Whiteshell. He was a member of "Our Lady of the Whiteshell," participating in the different ministries of the chapel. St. Alphonsus Parish was John's home parish, and there too he ministered in many areas. John lived his faith in daily life and had a strong faith and trust in God. John will be remembered by all who have known him throughout his life. John is survived by his brothers and sisters in Holland. "For John, life has changed not ended". A memorial Mass in celebration of John's life will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, located at the corner of Munroe Avenue and Brazier Street. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember John may make a donation in his name to the Riverview Health Centre or St. Boniface Hospital Foundation-Alzheimer Research.
