Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCORNELIUS (CORY) LOEWEN November 15, 1932 March 5, 2014 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad and grandpa. Dad peacefully passed away with his loved ones by his side. Left to cherish his memory are his children: daughter Sharon (Tom) Church and their children David (Natalie), Scott and Megan (Jesse); son Glen (Dalia) Loewen, and their sons Ryan and Randy; and son Brian (Louise) Loewen and their daughters Rebecca (Cody), Emily and Sarah. Dad was predeceased by his loving wife, Doris, who passed away August 25, 2003. Dad was born in Neuhorst, Manitoba and he grew up on a farm around the Gretna area. Cory came from a large family and had many stories about his time on the farm. Dad moved to Winnipeg when he was a teenager, there he began to make a life for himself. He met his wife Doris and they were married for 47 years. Dad worked at Macleods as a Lift Operator for 42 years, until his retirement at the age of 62. Many missed him after his retirement for he loved to put a smile on people's faces and make others laugh. He worked alongside his son Glen for 20 years. Dad will be remembered for his terrific sense of humour, he loved to tell jokes and had a great memory for them. We always enjoyed his stories about growing up on the farm and have many fond memories of family barbecues and family get-togethers. He had a lot of fun with his grandchildren and loved to spend time with them and they with him. We will all surely miss him. God saw that you were getting weary, he put his arms around you and whispered, Peace be thine. Gone from our sight but not from our hearts. Sleep gently Dad. We want to thank the staff at Meadowood Manor for the care and compassion they gave to Cory. A private Celebration of Dad's life will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Cory's memory to the Kidney Foundation, 200-55 Donald, Winnipeg, R3C 1L8. Arrangements entrusted to: KLASSEN FUNERAL HOME 1897 Henderson Hwy. 338-0331 Send expressions of sympathy at www.klassenfuneralhome.com

I have a lot of good memories growing up with my brother. Never a dull moment. He was always trying to pull pranks and outdo all of us. I will always remember his sense of humor and the laughs we had together. I have very fond childhood memories of driving to the "big" city to visit my Uncle Cornie and Aunt Doris in their St. Vital apartment. Always had a lot of laughs and hospitality in their home. (Martha Toews - Niece) On behalf of the Penner family we express our condolences to your families. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. - Posted by: Aunt Tina and Uncle John (Herb and Martha) (Sister ) on: Mar 13, 2014

As a child, teenager and even into my adult years I can fondly remember joking and kibitzing around with my "Cornie Uncle!" Oh how we would laugh!!! I hope that fond memories are able to prevail during this time of loss...my thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. - Posted by: Judy Barton (nee Elias) (Niece) on: Mar 10, 2014

I have childhood memories of Uncle Cory who made me laugh as a child. His brother (Jake) my dad was killed when I was 8 yrs old and he tried to make my fears go away. I will always remember. My condolences, and may peace and love surround you as family. - Posted by: Carolyn Beazley (niece) on: Mar 08, 2014
