HNAT ANTONCHUK It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Hnat Antonchuk. Dad left us peacefully on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 with family members at his side. Hnat is predeceased by wife, Nellie (1998) and son, David (2011). Left to cherish his memory are his children, Ernie (Jan) of Okotoks, AB, Richard (Bev Newbould) Nanaimo, BC, Nadine Horsman (Terry) of West St. Paul, MB, Judy (daughter-in-law) of Winnipeg, MB, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, in-laws Walter and Elsie Mychalchuk, Carol Antonchuk and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was born on January 21, 1926 in Kozlin, Rovno Poland. He came to Canada with his parents and older brother in 1929. Dad was the last of the original Antonchuk family to leave our side. Dad married Mom on October 29, 1948 and together they lived most of their lives together in Cowan, Manitoba and later moved to Swan River. While living in Swan River, Dad kept busy by working as a maintenance man at the Westwood Inn and on the side, building and repairing golf carts, Dad was a busy man who was always out to make a buck. They eventually moved to Pine Ridge Trailer Park, Birds Hill, MB, so that they could be closer to family. Upon Mom's passing, Dad moved into Winnipeg where he resided until his passing. Dad was a wonderful man who loved to laugh, sing and spend time with his family. He carried his sense of humour with him right to the end. His wisdom was always shared with family, whether we wanted it or not. Funeral service will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy.#1 East at Navin Rd. Winnipeg, Manitoba. on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. If friends so desire, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
