Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • It is with great sadness that we say farewell to Aunt Ann. I will always remember her great smile and her laugh, and remembering all the summers I spent at the farm in my early years, the smell of the fields, the summer kitchen, and the rock picking blueberries. Then as time went on and we grew up we would come back every few years for a visit but before we left we always had to return to the barn to make sure that our names and the names of other loved ones were still there. • I understand that when Anna was a young woman, she was always surrounded by children, two of which were my mother and her brother. They both speak affectionately of her. A generation later, I too remember her warmth. I was fascinated by her gum drop cake, with all the bright colors, and she would make it when she knew I would visit. It was delicious too, and I don't think I have seen one since. This will be my special Auntie Anna memory, a gesture remembered decades later that demonstrates her thoughtfulness, generosity, nurturing spirit and cooking talents. My thoughts are with her sons, Gordon, Eddie and Alberts, and their families. - Posted by: Dale Dreffs (Great Niece) on: Mar 16, 2014

  • Our condolences to the entire Kabaluk family. We never had the opportunity to meet Anna. However, we have had the great pleasure of meeting and getting to know Gord and Pat through our church. Our thoughts are with you. Vichna Pam'yat' - Posted by: Don & Bonny Hutniak (acquaintances) on: Mar 13, 2014

  • My condolences to the family on the passing of dear Anna. Anna was a beautiful lady inside and out. I am glad I had the pleasure of spending time with her, cooking, laughing, and listening to all her stories from the past. Anna would always make you smile when she would walk about the house with her buggy and say “Startum Tractor”. Anna always had kind words to say as we would head out the door. She will be missed dearly. I know she is happy and at peace with her husband now. Good-Bye and God Bless you Anna. - Posted by: Brenda Lange (Caregiver) on: Mar 12, 2014
