JEAN YASKIW (nee BERGUNDER) With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jean Yaskiw, (nee Bergunder), who passed away peacefully on Monday, March 10, 2014, at the Grace General Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband of 33 years, Wesley Yaskiw. She is survived by her son Vernon, daughter Vanessa, grandchildren Chelsie, Alexandra, Brett and great-grandchildren Adam, Rain and Porshea. Also surviving Jean is brothers and sisters, Stan, Charlie, Leonard (Diana), Gail (Clarence), Allan (Eveline) and David (Donna). Spending quality time with her grandchildren grew to be the most precious moments in her life. Jean loved to crochet, cross-stitch, and spend her Saturday mornings going to garage sales. An avid card player, Jean never turned down a game of crib. During family functions and large gatherings, you could always expect a cup of instant coffee and games like King Peter or Kanasta, which would carry into the night and sometimes through to daylight. Pallbearers will be Brett Yaskiw, Allan Bergunder, Leonard Bergunder, Stanley Bergunder, Clarence Hoeppner and David Bergunder. The family would like to thank the staff at the Grace General Hospital ICU for the compassionate care provided to Jean and the support to family. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14, at 10:00 a.m., at the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline Street, Selkirk, Manitoba.
