MARION STIMPSON (nee DAVIES) September 1923 - March 2014 Marion died peacefully with her family at her side at Oakview Place in Winnipeg. She was born in Deloraine, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg at the age of 16 years. She was married to Les Stimpson of Shoal Lake and made her home there until 1981 when she moved back to Winnipeg. Marion was active in the United Church Women, the Shoal Lake Community Choir and served as a choir adjudicator for the annual music festival. She could also be found helping Les in the Post Office during the summer holidays or Christmas rush. She was always ready to bake a pie or two for the Church Women, the annual Curling Bonspiels and other community functions. Marion was predeceased by her husband Les in 1975 and her youngest daughter Maureen in 1992. She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her daughter Lynne and son Kevin (Shirley), her grandchildren Jacy, Cole (Clare), Tal, Shane and Zachary of Winnipeg and Carrie (Alan), Erin (Sean), and Amy of Vancouver and her great-grandchildren Quinn, Colton, Ailish and Liam. The family would like to thank the exceptional floor nurses and care attendants of Eagle Way, Oakview Place for their loving care and support for the family. You all brought a smile to her face and made her final journey comfortable and comforting. A service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue on Saturday, March 15 at 10:00 a.m. Flowers gratefully declined and donations can be made in Marion's name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba Suite 200, 6 Donald Street Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6.
