EDITH MCBREAIRTY Surrounded by the love of her family, Edith McBreairty passed away on March 10, 2014 at the age of 87. Edith (Nanny) was born in MacGregor, MB on November 26, 1926. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Jim of 64 years, her parents, Jean and Benjamin Peterson, brothers, Roger and Claude and sisters, Inez and Mary. She leaves to mourn her passing and will be greatly missed by her three daughters, Lois (Don), Enid (Al), Leanne (Les), her grandchildren Dana (Rob), Trista (Chris), Justin (Niki), Kelsey, Jaime, Evan and Owen and her great-grandchildren Adoni, Erasmia, Jenna, Tegan and Kade. She also leaves to mourn her sister Verna in Vancouver. Edith grew up in MacGregor, MB and moved to Winnipeg to seek employment. She married Jim on July 5, 1947 and they raised three daughters in the St. James area. Edith was a loving mother and grandmother, her grandchildren being her greatest joy. She loved to be included and watch them in their various sport activities, Christmas pageants, or any other events with which they were involved. Her family was everything to her. The family would like to thank the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Grace Hospital for their care and professionalism. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB, R3J 3M7 or to a charity of your choice.
