MYRNA HUNT (nee GISLASON) Suddenly, following a lengthy illness, it is with sadness that we announce the passing of Myrna Hunt on March 19, 2014 at the age of 70 years. Mom was a beautiful and artistically talented woman who leaves to mourn her children Lisa (Rob) and Jason (Kelly), grandchildren Riley and Natasha, brother Weldon as well as many extended family. She was predeceased by her beloved parents Doris and Barney. Born in Poplar Point, MB, Mom lived most of her life in Winnipeg, but had the joy of living in various towns in Manitoba and in Colorado for a short time where she completed her private pilot's license. Mom was a very caring person who shared her compassion for animals working in her early years as a veterinary assistant and later offering her services at the Humane Society. She was excited in later years to be a part of Employment and Income Assistance with the Government of Manitoba. We would like to thank all the first responders and for those that cared for Mom over the years. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I had the pleasure of working with Myrna in dentistry in the 60s and especially remember her taking me to see her aunt in the country where I had the best fresh baked bread egg salad sandwiches ever. I remember her as being great fun and with the greatest smile. My condolences to her loved ones. - Posted by: Connie van Loon (old friend) on: Apr 12, 2014

  • I worked with myrna at EIA and she was always friendly and supportive. Condolences to Myrna's family - Posted by: leslie green (co-worker) on: Apr 05, 2014

  • Myrna was so kind to me when I started working for EIA. After a couple of conversations we realized she had known some of the folks from my hometown, including my dad, through baseball. She shared some stories, though she was far younger than dad, baseball was quite the thing then. She brought me comfort at my new job and when I told dad she thought he was a great ball player, she brought him pride. Great lady. - Posted by: Colleen ross (Co worker) on: Apr 05, 2014
