MARION LOUISE JEROME It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marion Jerome on March 19, 2014 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 73 with her family by her side. She leaves to mourn her husband Les; her four children, Doug Jerome, Chris Jerome, Marlene Jerome (Mike), and Brenda Toles; and her five grandchildren, Alyssa, Brennen, Joshua, Darby, and Jessica. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Pearl Walker, and her brother Ernest Bruce Walker. Marion was born in Winnipeg on April 23, 1940 and grew up in River Heights. Marion and Les were married on July 7, 1962. A few years after they were married, they started their family and she was soon busy raising a family of four. As her children got older and became more independent, she decided to return to work as a bookkeeper. She found enjoyment from spending time with family. Some of her favourite times were sitting around with family playing board games and card games. Summer vacations were special times as well, as we would all go away together as a family to Detroit Lakes, and later West Hawk Lake. Later in life she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and playing cards with friends at the senior's centre, always giving a ride to whoever needed one. A funeral service celebrating Marion's life will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home at 4000 Portage Avenue. Burial and reception to follow the service. We would like to thank her doctors, Winnipeg Fire Department and Paramedics and the staff at the Grace Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marion may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Dear Marion, although as a neighbourhood buddy of Les and his brother we had met only a couple of times in more recent times, you and Les were an important part of my personal community and as such my circle of friends will miss you very much. So sorry, Les and family. Les we will have a chat when we next meet in the local stores. - Posted by: Harold McCort (Friend of family) on: Mar 23, 2014
