DEBORA WIENS-BRANDON 1959-2014 It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Deborah Wiens-Brandon at her home in the afternoon of Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Deborah was born in 1959 and grew up on a farm in Grunthal, Manitoba. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Nursing in 1983 and practiced as a community nurse for more than 30 years. Public Health Nursing was her passion and the client and family's needs were paramount. Debbie was a generous person with an open heart, always willing to help others. She was hard-working, organized, a critical thinker, and problem solver; whether at work, home, or volunteering. She spent countless hours with the A.P.F.G. Ringette Association, coordinating schedules, organizing shot-clocks, as well as being a "camp nurse" for many summers. She was predeceased by her mother Nettie, and her mother-in-law Leonara. She is lovingly remembered by her husband John, daughters Alexandra and Natasha, father John (Nettie), siblings: Doug (Kathy- Sandra, Lisa, and Vicki), JoAnn (Ian - Matthew, Hannah, and Jonathan), and Timothy (Deszi); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and colleagues. A special thank you to Dr. Evans, Fort Garry Public Health Nursing colleagues, the Palliative Care Team including Dr. Martin, and her tennis and ringette community. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Elim Mennonite Church, Grunthal, Manitoba with burial to follow at Grunthal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, a donation may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee; 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 5K9 or by e-mail at manitoba@mennonitecc.ca. Psalm 103:1 Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, Bless His Holy name! Arrangements by BIRCHWOOD FUNERAL CHAPEL 1-204-346-1030 OR 1-888-454-1030
