ALBERT KARPOFF Peacefully on March 15, 2014 Albert Karpoff passed away, at Middlechurch Home, at the age of 88 years old. Albert is predeceased by his loving wife Hilda (Rosentreter) and son Jim. Albert is survived by sons, Ken (Nancy) and Don, daughters Terri and Trudy (Walter), grandchildren Tracey (Ryan), Jason (Colleen), Zane (Chelsey), Payton and Riley, great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Timothy, sisters Linda and Carol (Norm) and brother Larry (Anne). Albert was born in Whitemouth and was one of 10 children he lived most of his life in Winnipeg. Albert proudly served his country from 1943 to 1945 in the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve. He worked, again very proudly, for Canada Post for 35 years and was able to retired at the young age of 55. Albert had many hobbies. He was an amazing handyman and could build and fix anything; he loved helping others with all the many projects. He always enjoyed reading or playing a good game of chess. He curled and loved playing cards with family and friends, there was nothing like a good game of cards after a wonderful Sunday dinner. One of the best things Albert was known for was telling his corny jokes he loved to laugh and make people laugh. Albert and Hilda lived many years of their retired lives at Fort Garry Place they made so many great friends. Albert loved music, He and Hilda belonged to the Fort Garry Place Choir they loved singing in the choir and the many places it took them. Retirement also meant traveling for Albert and Hilda and they loved it all cruises, bus trips, road trips they did it all with their friends and family. Family was very important to Albert his eyes always lit up every time someone came to visit even in his most difficult times he was at every family function. The family would like to thank all the wonderful caring staff at Middlechurch for all the care you gave our Dad/Grandpa we know he appreciated it as well. A celebration of Albert's life will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers and in Albert's giving way, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
