MARGARET ELLEN (PEGGY) CHAPMAN (nee HALL) Passed away peacefully after a difficult battle with cancer on Sunday, March 23, 2014. One of eight children of John and Mary Hall of Mount Carmel, Ontario, she had five sisters and two brothers. Her parents and sisters Mary Ann Marshall and Ann Bob predeceased her. She is survived by her husband George, along with her sisters Nora Skinner, Carolyn Woodburn (Bill), Lorraine Hall (Tony), and brothers John (Ilse) and Philip (Mary Agnes), many loving and caring nephews and nieces and many friends. She was a much loved stepmother to Greg, Carolyn (Tibor) and Doug (Kiera), and a very special Grandma P to Tyler, Jaedyn, Caris, Cedar and Willow. Upon completion of her schooling she worked in both law and insurance offices in Exeter, London and Windsor, Ontario, thereafter in Vancouver, BC, and finally settled in Winnipeg. She and George married in the historic St. James Anglican Church at Polo Park. In Winnipeg, she worked both as a legal assistant and office administrator. Throughout all of her various working experiences, she made and maintained lifelong friendships in many parts of the world. For many years she was an active volunteer at the Grace General Hospital. Peggy enjoyed travel and with her husband, took several cruises, enjoyed the sun in Mexico, saw and experienced the wonders of Great Britain, Europe, the Orient, Australia and New Zealand. Most of all she loved playing bridge and became very proficient. She enjoyed playing golf and in particular enjoyed watching tennis, and idolized Roger Federer - for all the wonderful qualities he displayed as well as his remarkable tennis talent. With encouragement from her husband, she took up distance running and ran a half marathon on her 58th birthday. For 18 years she loved, trained and cared for her dear little Archie, who became everything one could ever expect or want from a dog. It was a sad day in the Chapman household when he passed away. Funeral service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd. at 11:00 a.m. Thanks to the doctors and assistants at Grace Hospital CancerCare, Riverview Centre and the home care nurses for their care, consideration and assistance during a very trying time. Flowers are gratefully declined and if you choose to make a donation in memory of Peggy, the Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7; the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 9Z9, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. • My dear friend Peggy Words cannot explain :why you had to go so soon ! Words cannot describe :what wonderful friend you were to me . Words would not define :the joy you gave to me and and all those around you . Words could not be coloured :as pretty as those blue eyes were , when laughing or even crying with you ! Words could not describe : Your beautiful smile So sweet I could feel it in a phone call or even in emails . Words can not account; for how Many times you were there for me , in happy times and the sad times . Words could never make you believe ; just how beautiful you were , no matter what you wore . Words could never be remembered : as well as you could remember the date /time / year and even the seconds ! Especially if it included Roger Federer ! Words could never welcome anyone :as when Peggy opened that front door and there you were in the presence of her love ! Words cannot deny ; We didn't want to say good by:( BUT what Words ! My dear best friend Peggy can describe , Is an angel in heaven is what you will be ! Just as you were here to me ! I Will miss you terribly and I Will always love you ! Till we meet again !
