CAROLYN JANE KLASSEN
Born: Dec 10, 1968
Date of Passing: Mar 23, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCAROLYN JANE KLASSEN (REMPEL) December 10, 1968 - March 23, 2014 It is with aching hearts that we announce that Carolyn passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer at the age of 45. She was predeceased by her infant daughter Janna Hope, father Herman, and her grandparents. She will be lovingly remembered by her best friend and husband Jim, her sons Mitchell, Evan, and Jay, mom Anne, sisters Chris (Bruce), Teresa (Puba), Stephanie, parents-in-law Peter and Susan, brothers-in-law Ken (Anita), Don (Irene), 14 nieces and nephews, along with many cousins, aunts and uncles, and numerous friends. Carolyn was born on December 10, 1968 and grew up on a small hobby farm near Steinbach. After high school, she continued her learning at Winkler Bible Institute. It was during this time that she met her husband Jim whom she married in 1991. She later received her degree in Occupational Therapy and found her calling in Adolescent Mental Health at the Health Sciences Centre. Although she enjoyed her career, her true delight was being a mom to Mitchell, Evan and Jay. She thrived on being a part of their school and community activities. Much of her time was spent caring for and creating a loving and Christ-centred family. She had a way of making each person feel special by listening thoughtfully and showing a genuine interest in their lives. Her generosity shone through in the many ways that she cared for others. One of many passions she developed was joyfully filling Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes with gifts for children in developing countries. Carolyn's strong faith helped her grow and carried her through the challenges of life. When she was diagnosed with cancer in 2008, her strength, courage and faith never wavered. Even though her journey was difficult, she had a positive perspective and continued to enjoy life to the fullest. A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held on Friday, March 28 at 2:30 p.m. at Grant Memorial Baptist Church, 877 Wilkes Avenue In the spirit of Carolyn's generosity, you may bring a filled shoebox to her Celebration Service, make a donation to Samaritan's Purse-Operation Christmas Child or The Canadian Cancer Society.

Jim and family, we are so sorry that we couldn't be there today to join in the celebration of Carolyn's life as we are currently away. Our hearts ache for you for your enormous loss. Although we didn't know Carolyn very well, it was very evident that she loved life and people as was shown by her warm inviting smile. She always was so personable and easy to talk to. We were delighted to see that Carolyn had a huge heart for Operation Christmas Child as we do (I, Lori, head up OCC for Grant Memorial Church every year) and want you to know that we will be doing an extra box each this year in memory of Carolyn. You will be in our prayers in the weeks and months ahead asking for God's strength and comfort to be with all of you on this difficult journey. - Posted by: The Bettigs - Gerry, Lori, Calahan, Capri and Cayman (sons Cayman and Jay are good friends) on: Mar 28, 2014

I was deeply saddened and shocked to hear of Carolyn's passing. I met Carolyn @ WBI. She and I were roommates during her 2nd year, and my first year. We shared many precious memories. Carolyn was a beautiful, generous, caring woman, who always made time to listen. She made my year at WBI a wonderful experience. My sincere condolences to Jim and the boys. - Posted by: Doris Klassen Kasdorf (roommate and friend at WBI) on: Mar 28, 2014
