MAURICE MENZIES Peacefully, with family by his side, Maurice passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 at Beacon Hill Lodge, Winnipeg, MB, at the age of 91. Maurice will be lovingly remembered by his children, Craig (Pam), Adrienne (Peter Soltau); and grandchildren, Michael, Scott, Kate Menzies, Christopher and Alexandra Soltau, and many nephews and nieces. Maurice was predeceased by his wife Muriel on September 18, 2010. He was also predeceased by his four brothers and their spouses, Duncan (Lottie), George (Ada), Jack (Kay), Forbes (Noreen). Maurice and Muriel were married in Winnipeg in 1944, where they began their life together. Maurice served in the Second World War as a Naval Radar Technician. After the war, he started his career at Eatons in the floor covering department. This led to a very long career with Buchwolds and Sons Flooring in Saskatoon. After his retirement, Maurice and Muriel enjoyed many years wintering in Arizona and later many years at the lake with Craig and his family. His interests included golf, reading, curling, and football. Special thanks to the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge for all the love and attention that Maurice received. Cremation has taken place and a service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
