YVONNE FRANCES (LEE) REILLY
Born: Jul 30, 1950
Date of Passing: Mar 27, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryYVONNE FRANCES (LEE) REILLY It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Yvonne Reilly on March 27, 2014, after a brief battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Allan of Winnipeg, daughter Shauna of Kentucky and father Dudley Lee of Neepawa. She will also be remembered by her brothers Rick (Lynn) Lee and Terry (Diane) Lee; her nieces and nephews Jason (Jara) Lee, Cammie (Terry) Lee, Cheryl (Jim) Beaumont, Mike (Katie) Lee; Mark (Cortney) Lee, and Patrick Lee; her brothers and sisters-in-law and special friends. She was predeceased by her son Steven, her mother Ida, her stepmother Ina and brother Keith. Yvonne was born in Minnedosa, MB on July 30, 1950. She was raised and attended school in Neepawa, where she met her husband Allan. In 1968, Yvonne moved to Montreal to attend nursing training. Upon completion, she backpacked around Europe with her close friends before returning to Neepawa to work at the local hospital. In 1972, Yvonne and Al moved to Vancouver to start a new adventure and their lives together. There Yvonne found her calling as a home care nurse. She worked in a number of different positions but always found herself working in the community providing services to those who needed it most. In 1989, the Reilly's moved back to Neepawa, where Yvonne continued to work in the community as a home care nurse. It was not uncommon to see Yvonne riding her bike around town (when weather permitted), her scarf and skirt blowing in the wind and her nursing supplies on the back going from home to home providing care (even if it meant running yellow lights). In 1997, the Reilly's moved to Winnipeg, where they continue to make their home. Yvonne was an avid traveller, she and her husband travelled all over the Caribbean, Asia and Europe - having countless adventures and finding wonderful stories (often to the concern of their daughter). Yvonne was a self-proclaimed water-baby; she swam and frequently partook in aqua-size classes at the Rady Community Centre. Yvonne and Al spent a great deal of time in Florida, where they built a strong community and enjoyed missing Winnipeg winters. Yvonne led the community ladies in aqua-size each morning and became a capable golfer. Yvonne enjoyed camping and other adventure outlets, which culminated in her roles in Girl Guides: leading troops of Brownies, Pathfinders and Rangers; and as the provincial camp commissioner. Yvonne loved to knit/crochet and made clothes throughout the year for donation to the Winnipeg Cheer Board at Christmas, made outfits for her grandnieces and her granddog; she collected wool everywhere she went (much like her mother) and leaves behind a large stockpile of wool. Another important aspect of Yvonne's life was her engagement in the Anglican Church both in Neepawa (where she served as Treasurer) and at St. Aidan's in Winnipeg (where she served as Warden and in various other service roles). Yvonne deeply loved her husband, family, friends and community. She will be dearly missed. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at Grace Hospital and CancerCare Manitoba, St. Aidan's Anglican Church and Pastor David Labdon. In accordance to Yvonne's wishes, a celebration of her life will take place at St. Aidan's Church in Winnipeg on Friday, April 4 at 3:00 p.m. There will be a reception at the church to follow. In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate donations to the Cancer Society. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

I remember Yvonne and my sister Deb would attend church camp together at Clear Lake. After the the week at camp Yvonne would visit with us for a week and then Deb would visit with Yvonne in Neepawa for a week. She was always great fun. In later years we lost touch, but she remains one of my favourite family members. The world is a lot darker without her in it. - Posted by: Tim Lee (Cousin) on: Apr 10, 2014

So glad we met when we were in Canada in 2002. Felt a real connection with Yvonne and so grateful to her for filling me in with family happenings in Canadian branches of our widely dispersed family. Our love and condolences to Al, Shauna and Dudley. Wish we could be with you tomorrow but you'll all be in our thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Teresa (second cousin) and Frank (Our mothers were first cousins. ) on: Apr 03, 2014

I fondly remember Yvonne leading several of our local Girl Guide leaders on our first canoe trip on the Assiniboine River. I had the pleasure of joining her and Shauna on another canoeing adventure and admired her skill and leadership and zest for the outdoors. My condolences to her family. - Posted by: Stacey Paulsen (Girl Guide leader) on: Apr 02, 2014

I saw Yvonne passing in the hall at the Rady. She was back after all the operations and looked good. I said, "Great to see you back", and she beamed with a big smile. That is how I will remember her. A swim sister - Posted by: Judith (friend) on: Apr 01, 2014

I am so glad to have re-connected with Yvonne recently and had time to have some laughs about our "shenanigans" at Pelican Lake in the summers of our youth! We had pesky brothers and other cousins who sometimes joined us and sometimes "told on us"! Yvonne still had a glint in her eye when we talked about that. I appreciated that she had become a beautiful lady with a huge heart. I will miss you, Yvonne. - Posted by: Judy (cousin) on: Apr 01, 2014
