Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • My goodness. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time. I only got the news of Mrs. Brown's passing and I'll pray that she is up in Heaven singing Brigadoon! Hope my Dad is there to enjoy! Our family has so much nostalgia - memories of walks through the bush to our cabin or up to yours, early Sunday morning when she drove down after a show. Can you believe that was 45-50 years ago???? God bless you! - Posted by: Sydney Kennedy (Lake of the Woods neighbor and Winnipeg friend) on: Jul 16, 2014

  • Dear Gail & Calum, I'm sorry to hear of Kathleen's passing. My condolences to you and your family. - Posted by: Julia Prawdzik (Professional) on: May 07, 2014

  • My sincere condolences on the passing of your Wife and Mom, Kathleen was one of my most favorite people! I have not seen her in a long time, but I often thought of her! I worked with her during the Pope's and Royal Visit of 1984 and other smaller visits! She was beautiful and kind! Every time I heard O Danny Boy, I could hear Kathleen breaking out in song! She was instrumental in where I am today! Thank you for sharing her with us! There is a beautiful singing Angel in heaven to watch over us! My deepest sympathies, hugs to all of you! - Posted by: Deborah Giguere (Former co-worker & friend) on: Apr 28, 2014

  • Dear Morry and Family. I cannot begin to express my condolences to you and your family. Your mom was always the most gracious and amazing person. She wrote the book on Protocol and we are richer for having known her. - Posted by: Bruce MacKay (Friend) on: Apr 25, 2014

  • I would like to send my sincere condolences to Kathleen's Family. Although I had not seen her in a while I have very fond memories of all the great family time spent with her whenever she visited us in Keewatin. She was such a beautiful and gracious lady & I am sure that she will be missed very much. - Posted by: Catherine (McLay) Kasprick (Daughter of her cousin Grace (Forbes) McLay in Keewatin) on: Apr 09, 2014

  • To all of Kathleen's family, I am truly sorry to read of Kathleen's passing. My father, Jock Forbes was always so pleased when they had an opportunity to get together. All of the Forbes/McLeans/McLay cousins spoke so fondly of happy times when they had the opportunity to get together. These memories were never forgotten. I am pleased I had the opportunity to meet Kathleen. We all have great respect for what Kathleen stood for; always graciously showing respect and kindness to all. We are honoured to have known her. What a beautiful Lady that put a smile on many faces! Yes, Kathleen did make all around her welcomed and happy to be with her. Each honour bestowed upon Kathleen was well earned! She will live on in our hearts. My husband Doug and I send our condolences for the loss of your loved one. Kathleen will live on in many hearts. • 'Auntie Kay' was always bright and ready to make you feel you were special. As a young boy I remember the Browns visiting and the Morrisons visiting the Browns, especially at Christmas. Kay could light up a room and when her and Donnie Morrison got going at a get together they pulled everybody into the fun. I will remember her smile, her kindness and her amazing quality of making you feel good. Debbie and I offer our condolences to you all. Your Mom was a wonderful Lady; we are richer for having known her. David Morrison - Posted by: David (cousin) on: Apr 08, 2014
