Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERNARD (BRAD) GEORGE BUCHAN It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and great-father, Bernard (Brad) George Buchan, on April 2, 2014. Bernard was born on December 11, 1933, in St. Boniface, Manitoba and lived his whole life in Winnipeg. We celebrated Dad's 80th birthday as a family and were blessed to have him with us for so many years. Brad was very proud of his family and was always there to offer support, guidance and encouragement whenever he could help. Bernard married his sweetheart, Annette Bouchard, on November 20, 1954. It would have been their 60th Diamond Anniversary this autumn. Brad will be lovingly remembered by his wife Annette; daughter Heather (Bill); sons, Mark and Edward (Nancy); grandchildren, Marney (Cory), Lei, Catherine, Jeremy, Jessica; and great-grandchildren, Dylan, Nicholas, Emelia, Kory, Kaitlyn; and his brother John (Bunny) Buchan. Brad spent half of his working career at the Marlborough Hotel, The Paddock and the Canadianna. Brad's love for walking and meeting people led him to his second career as a mail courier for the law firms Aikins Macauley and Pitblado. He was a very proud member of the Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada, Unit 283 for 48 years. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 10 at 11:15 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church at 2400 Portage Ave., followed by the interment at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave. A celebration of life reception with a last post honor guard service, to tribute Bernard, will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Army, Navy & Air Force, Unit 283, 3584 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
