CELINE MICHAEL COOK 16 December 1931 - 1 April 2014 With much sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Celine is survived by her daughter Michelle Cook, son-in law David Pruden, granddaughter Arden Pruden, brothers; Lord and wife Joan (Wells) Beaudin, Dennis Beaudin, Earnest and wife Jean (Dechka) Beaudin, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Celine was predeceased by her husband Fergus Cook, parents Lord and Mary (Hartford) Beaudin, brother James and his wife Anita (Lowell) Beaudin, and sister-in-law Elaine (Borton) Beaudin. As a teacher, school principal, teacher of teachers and volunteer in her professional community, she was a passionate Canadian who constantly promoted the well being of others. When retired, and particularly in later years, she chose to live a quiet life, devoted to her reading, study, family, and such passions as family genealogy, bridge and gardening. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public service. She will be laid to rest beside her late husband, in the presence of family members, at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Later that day, friends and family members are invited to gather to remember, reminisce, and honour Celine. If you wish to attend, please contact thelenoregang@shaw.ca or telephone 204-772-5170 for more information. Memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E OV9, or to a charity of their choice. We love you...your memory lives with us. Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • We met Celine through hearing of her work and buying the genealogy book that she worked so hard on. Meeting her and visiting her home was truly an inspiration. - Posted by: Shirley and Gord Beaudin (relatives) on: May 03, 2014

  • As one of the more physically distant, in Vancouver, familial close family, son of the youngest brother, I did not get a chance to visit Celine as often as many of the brothers and related children, however those times were always memorable for me. I do not believe Celine would want sadness from us at this time, but a celebration of her long and wonderful life. Her dedication to education and knowledge for all cannot be overlooked, and will remain a legacy for many generations of the Beaudoin/Beaudin clan. I was very happy to see her last summer at a family party in Alberta. I will miss her always. - Posted by: Ernie Beaudin (Jr) (nephew) on: Apr 07, 2014

  • Rest in peace! You were great lady! - Posted by: Ms. Cathy G. Imlah () on: Apr 07, 2014

  • My thoughts and prayers go to you during this difficult time. Losing a Mother is never easy especially someone as special as Celine. I always loved talking with your Mom at the Normandin get togethers. She was always so pleasent and a wealth of information about past family members, very interesting. Celine worked so hard on the The Beaudin book. We now have all the information in hard cover, how wonderful for us. - Posted by: May Trager (cousin) on: Apr 07, 2014

  • Our deepest sympathy to Michelle, David & Arden. Your mother was such a beautiful and kind person. We loved getting together with her at family brunches, reunions etc. Her knowledge about genealogy was amazing. I am grateful for the help she gave me with mine. I will miss the coffee dates and her smile. Thank you Celine for being a part of my life and my family. We love you. - Posted by: Florence Dery; Theresa & Aimee Schwager (cousin) on: Apr 07, 2014

  • My husband and I lived next door to Celine's condo for 3 years and she was the best neighbour we could have asked for. She loved to garden and as our backyard was right next to the condo's she had asked me if she could take care of it. I was happy to have her do it as I wasn't good with gardens. My husband and I got married in the courtyard and I will never forget how beautiful she made the yard look for our wedding. She was one of our most unforgettable guests. God bless Celine and our condolences to her family. She was a lovely person with a beautiful soul. - Posted by: Susan and Orlando (Past Neighbour's and Friends) on: Apr 05, 2014

  • Michelle, deepest sympathy to you and your family. I always enjoyed talking with your Mom and enjoyed sharing our family genealogy information. She was such a pleasant lady. I was so happy she was able to meet with my aunt, Sister Lorraine Lamarre, last summer as Auntie really enjoyed that visit. Mom will be missed at the Beaudin reunions, as she always had so much to contribute to those gatherings. I know you will miss her too. • She was a GREAT principal at Chief Peguis Junior High and the BEST thing she did for me was to make me repeat Grade 7!!!!!! RIP. - Posted by: Cheryl Leach Falk (Former student at Chief Peguis Junior High) on: Apr 05, 2014
