TREVOR LOFTUS PRIESTLEY With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our husband, dad and grandfather, Trevor, on March 27, 2014. He leaves to mourn his wife, Patricia, daughter, Dawn (Tim), and son, David (Karen), as well as, grandchildren, Derek (Candice), Krystle, Marc (Kirsten), Brett (Kara), and Nicole. His first great-grandchild is due in September. Trevor was born on November 30, 1933. In 1951, he met the love of his life, Patricia. He lived in West Kildonan and rode his bike to Norwood to court Patricia; they married July 17, 1954. Trevor worked at CP rail as a machinist until 1959 when he joined the West Kildonan/ City of Winnipeg Police Force. He retired at the rank of Staff Sergeant in 1989 after 31 years of service. Trevor spent summers from the age of six at Victoria Beach, he loved the beach so much that he built his family cabin there in 1956. He enjoyed fishing, sailing, golfing and windsurfing, as well as, picking blue berries for his favourite pie which Pat loved to bake. Trevor got his pilot's license and would fly to the beach to join the sailing races. Trevor enjoyed woodworking, built two sailboats and often helped his family with home projects. He also participated in and won numerous target shooting and curling competitions. During his early retirement Trevor was a Greens keeper at Victoria Beach for six years. Pat and Trevor wintered in Arizona where he continued to be active biking, golfing and hiking. Trevor was proud of his grandchildren and their career achievements. He was deeply dedicated to his family, especially his wife. The family would like to thank the staff at the Concordia Hospital for their excellent care. According to Trevor's wishes there will be a private family celebration of his life at Victoria Beach during the summer. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Trevor's name to the Renal Clinic at the Health Science Centre. Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 338-7111

  • Pat, we were saddened to hear of Trevor's recent passing. We first met at the VB Yacht Club and many years later re-connected at Mesa Shadows. We admired Trevor so much - everything he did he did so well. We will offer prayers you and the children, as he will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. With Love ... • Trevor was my first Supervisor when I started with the WPS back in 1979. He only expected an honest effort from you and asked you to be a professional. In return he was a knowledgeable decision maker who fully supported everyone on the shift. He definitely had a major impact on the success of my career. I also had the privilege of seeing Trevor on a regular occasion at Victoria Beach where my in-laws had a cottage not too far from his. He always stopped to chat and it was great to see him enjoying his well deserved retirement. Pat, please accept our heartfelt condolences from Teresa and myself. He will be missed. - Posted by: Jernej Anderlic (former co-worker) on: Apr 05, 2014

  • Sorry to hear of Trevor's passing. I first met Trevor as as 21 year old rookie with the Winnipeg Police when my first assignment was to the District 3 Station on Hartford Ave. A few years later I was assigned to work on Trevor's shift when we both transferred to District 1. He was always very approachable and a pleasure to work for as he backed up the men and women on his watch. My condolences to Mrs. Priestley and family. - Posted by: Grant Hardman (Former Co-Worker) on: Apr 05, 2014

  • Brett and family.. Sincerest condolences on the loss of your Grandfather. May you always remember and treasure all the wonderful memories you and your family were blessed to have with this important man in your lives. Although he will be deeply missed by the ones he left behind, he's safe in the arms of Jesus. - Posted by: Donna T. ((co-worker)) on: Apr 05, 2014

  • I am a former next door neighbour of Trevor's and Pat's on Durward about 31 plus years ago for over 3 years. Trevor was a great, not just a good neighbour.i remember him as a man of great integrity and a kind man. I especially enjoyed our conversations an out the justice system and our different perspectives. I also recall his kindness. I used to shovel my driveway manually, sometimes in the morning before I left work and when I came home after work the same day when it snowed heavily. I recall one particular storm driving home from work dreading the fact I had to shovel the driveway in the evening, in the freezing cold. As I drove up to my home I noticed the snow had been cleared. Without asking, Trevor, who owned a snowblower, had cleared the snow away. I went to his home to thank him and he told me not to worry again about snow shovelling because he said he would clear my driveway after it snowed in the future......and he did! I will never forget his gesture and in fact to this day I recount that story to friends and colleagues of mine. It made an indelible mark on me. I am very sorry about his passing. My condolences to Pat and your family. Norm Yusim - Posted by: Norman Yusim (Former next door neighbour) on: Apr 05, 2014
