DARLENE MAY SWITZER (MCLACHLAN) May 2, 1947- March 20, 2014 With family by her side, Darlene passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Alzheimers. Mom will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her loving husband, soul mate and best friend Ted; daughters Eileen (Rick) and Tracy (Rod); grandchildren Natalie (Will), Meagan (Lambert), Wes (Diana), Ian: great-grandchildren Corbin, Gabby and Ethan; brother Ron (Adele); sister Lee (Roger); sister Lori (Arne), and many family members, cousins nieces and nephews that were all very special to mom. Mom was predeceased by her mother Ida; father Murdock Ambry; sister Donna; brother Terry; mother and father-in-law Beth and Wes Switzer; niece Merna, and dear friend Cora Kennedy. She will be missed by her special friends Ruth Gilchrist, Dot Imlah and Betty Stapleton. Darlene's daughters Eileen and Tracy, their husbands Rick and Rod along with her grandchildren were the light of her life but Ted was her world. Mom had a warm heart for all. She believed in second and third chances and always saw a positive in every situation. Even in the last few months Mom still gave us a smile when she could because that is who she was. She went out of her way to make someone smile and didn't even know she was doing it. Mom, you will always be in our hearts and every spring when it's time to plan for our flower gardens we know you will be right beside us helping and guiding us. While we are all diminished by our loss of this gentle, beautiful soul, we are also enriched for having known and loved her. Thanks to the Fisher Personal Care Home and a special thanks to Cealie, Jennifer, Betty, Shauna, Yvette and Heather. A celebration of Darlene's life will be held on May 10, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Catholic Church, Fisher Branch officiated by Pastor James Thiessen, with the interment at the Fisherton Cemetery, and a gathering of memories at the Ukrainian Hall to follow. Donations in Darlene's name may be made to the Alzheimer Society, 204-943-6622 A SIMPLE SMILE CAN MAKE A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE!
