Stan hired me, a UBC dropout, at IBM to my first real job, obviously soon after he himself had arrived in Vancouver. I remember him as the epitome of a gentleman. A very kind and fair man. Meeting and working with him remains one of my fond memories of the '70s. My condolences to his family. - Posted by: Don West (Employee) on: Apr 01, 2015

I met Stan last May, when my Mother, Winnie Peterson moved into Chopin House at Harmony Court. Didn't know him for very long, but for the short time that I did know him, I found him to be quite the friendly man. When I would arrive to visit my Mom...quite often they and a few others were in the living room watching TV...Stan's arm would go up with a big wave to great me. He was quite the joker too, and would often have a cute comment that showed off his quick wit. My Mom, Winnie Peterson passed on March 23rd, a little less than a month before Stan. I think that they both liked the people and the surroundings in Chopin Court. Just wanted to share this short note with how fond we became of Stan in such a short time. My brothers and I are thinking of all of you at this very hard time. - Posted by: Janet Peterson (My Mom was his neighbor at Chopin House) on: May 02, 2014

To Connie and family, As I heard about Stan's death I thought back over the years to the times our families spent together at Ingolf, the sing songs, the fires on the big rock, blueberry picking and many hikes. Otto and I are thinking of you Connie and your family, especially at this time of grief. Joan (McCreath amd Otto(Toews) - Posted by: Joan McCreath (long time family friend) on: Apr 28, 2014
